I find that losing respect for someone is a difficult thing to come back from. Perhaps your friend felt that once she was told essentially to buy a watch for a bag, the transaction became purely economic and thus there was no expectation that the bag wouldn’t be flipped, at least in that SA’s mind. I’ve also gotten the impression that selling practices are different in Asia. But I get your disappointment.Just ranting..
A friend was offered to be put on the wishlist, provided that she bought an expensive watch. This was a store in Southeast Asia. She did. A few months later she was offered a gold K in a leather she dislikes.
She sold the bag upon pick up. She knew she didn’t want the bag because of the leather but took it anyway to make a profit. I am sure this is very common.
My perception of her as a friend changed because of this. I understand ppl do things differently but somehow I feel I can no longer be friends with her.
I get all the bags I need from my lovely store to the point that I think of helping friends get the bags they want but this story confirms my instincts that I should not.

Perhaps its the fact that your friend took a bag that she knew she didn’t even want? This is a good perspective, on I hadn’t thought about. Thank you.
Yet another friend was offered a BF birkin in exchange for buying a watch. This store was in Northern Asia. But the bag was right there for her to consider. She took it and has been wearing it. I am sure she’ll sell it a year or more later. This story somehow doesn’t affect me much.
I agree with you 💯. Why not leave the bag for someone who adores it. If one rejects an offer, another will be forthcoming.Just ranting..

It is probably more common than we think unfortunately. I saw it happen often in the h fb groups during the pandemic. I also know someone who took a k28 in noir in Paris and almost instantly posted the bag for sale in their sm account. It’s gross and selfish and opportunist imo.Just ranting..

Thanks and you are welcome! I hope you'll get your dream fast enough! Its stunning! Thank you for sharing
Agree 💯 Some decades ago I had a pretty good friend who would shop with me at the 60% sale at Chanel 57. But, she would then check to see if the discount was better for the same items at SAKS, Bloomingdale’s, and bergdorfs (this washer even seasonal bags would go on sale) and return stuff. I felt that this was really unfair to my Chanel SA who had held some great things for us, and I didn’t enjoy spending time with her, even without shopping afterwards. Though this was before eBay ans resale, I’m sure she eventually did this too. ETA: there is a difference in my book between rehoming something that you have tired of than engaging in bag arbitrage or taking advantage of an SAs kindness. But, I personally dislike any returns (including change of mind) unless they are based on incurable manufacturing defect. Bc I would not want to be the next person who purchased an item as new that someone else had previously used. JMOIt is probably more common than we think unfortunately. My understanding is that you can, but you have to bring the bag in so they can sort of determine that your request is legitimate, i.e. not ordering the accessories to flip or to sell with a fake bag.Hello everyone. I found this beauty on a reseller site but it does not include the clochette, lock or keys. Can I order these items in-store? I apologize for my ignorance of how things work at Hermes. Thanks everyone.

Thank you parisistherapy💐My understanding is that you can, but you have to bring the bag in so they can sort of determine that your request is legitimate, i.e. not ordering the accessories to flip or to sell with a fake bag.
My SA said I might not even have to bring in the bag to order the accessories though.
Third time is always the charm.I’ve been thinking about which bags I want for my collection. And while I have a few unicorn QBs and a bolide 25 volynka on my list, I’ve been wanting a few non qbs…namely a mini bolide. I even put it on the 2024 wishlist recently. I think somehow our little wishlist works…at least partly… on my bday visit, I hadn’t even talked to my SA about bags I want but got an offer for a mini bolide (color wasn’t for me). My mom and brother were traveling through LHR yesterday and I asked them to stop by the H boutique there and told them to ask for a mini bolide or a mini Lindy. I had low expectations. My brother texts me saying they have it in dark grey. Because of the time difference, it was in the early morning hours and didn’t see it. When I wake up I frantically tell him YES. He goes back. It’s a different SA and he shows her a stock picture that I sent him from the H website (It’s the one ostrich, which I told him I’m not interested in exotics). This next SA just tells him they don’t have that bag. Not sure if the mini bolide in “dark grey” was sold, or the second SA was purposefully only saying she didn’t have a mini bolide in vert cypress ostrich and didn’t want to offer the dark grey mini bolide. In the end I don’t need any of these bags and I’m just glad my mom and brother had a safe trip to the Uk and back in time for Christmas! But third time has got to be the charm in H universe, right?!![]()
