If only we all could be as fortunate as @880 and @haute okole to find not only fashion friends but true friends to shop with in the boutiques!
@OnlyModa , I’m sorry this happened to you. I’m sure your SA does not blame you. Your friends are adults and responsible for themselves. I do not make any SA referrals or introductions without my SAs prior consent, and unless I can personally vouch for the individuals shopping habits. For the past few years, my SAs have opted not to take referrals.

@Gin&H , I do have IRL friends who shop with me, but we all have our own SAs. If I accompany @haute okole or another friend to their appt, I am merely tagging along as a +1 to provide suggestions; unbiased opinions (if asked); or entertainment. I only purchase with my own SA. And, vice versa. Our SAs do get to know all of us casually, but that’s entirely different from a client relationship.

ETA: Agree with both of you in that I personally do not purchase unless I’m pretty sure I love an item and will not return. I’d rather visit it a few times than regret a purchase. And too many returns can cause issues for SAs in wasted time; loss of merchandise (if the return was made elsewhere); or performance reviews.

Hahah yes I love this! And that’s wise to only shop with your own SAs!

@OnlyModa I am so sorry to hear this. @Gin&H, thank you for your tag. The secret to having a successful Hermes SA relationship and maintain a phenomenal true friend who also shops at Hermes is that we already have established relationships with our own separate SAs. My SA has actually asked me not to refer anybody to him because he is completely booked and even stated that any additional clients would mean less for me! And @880 has a wonderful and established relationship with her SA and the management in Madison. My SA actually admires 880’s loyalty to Madison and is perfectly happy spending 2 hours at BH with us trying on RTW although he knows we buy NOTHING during our 880 + haute Okole dress up days. I do, however, schedule an actual shopping day later and then go nuts.

So, true story, if you introduce your SA to a new client, that new client may become your competition for the bags on your list. Your SA should be your happy little secret going forward. Good luck.

Ha! @880 just posted at the same time❤️. She is literally the most FUN during a reveal!

Hi @LailaT,
I think in this case, getting a cadena and keys from a reputable reseller might be the easiest. . .
thank you yes, I was wondering about MP since an online search didn’t yet result in me finding a reseller I knew. I’ve been out of the market for a while too! If any come to mind, I’d appreciate receiving a direct message.

If you don't need a lock because you don't actually use it on the bag, perhaps wait? If you ever feel like you want to complete the set, you can always order one. Spoken as someone who has a zillion locks sitting in boxes unused.

There are many threads on this; the "H relationship" thread is one.
so funny! I don’t use locks on my Birkins or Kelly bags either, but the closest I have to palladium is a brushed, so oh well!!

Honestly, that's probably what I would do, given the time frame, at least at Madison. I'm guessing that even though there's no leather to match and so it should be a quick 'repair', they will want to take a look at the bag before they agree to do anything. That likely means there's no shortcut; you're in line with everyone else waiting to have their bag to pass muster before moving on to the repair stage. If the lock isn't essential, I'd just enjoy the bag without it. :flowers:
thank you, that’ll be my course unless a reputable reseller has one available!!

I finally purchased my first Hermes bag. been a bit hesitant due to the high resale prices but saw this on fashionphile and took the plunge!

Now question for you all… What do we feel about a pegasus/rodeo on a pochette? Is it too overwhelming? Is this even the best color combo for this bag? I’m not sure if it goes or clashes. It’s mauve sylvestre/bleu france/bleu saphir. Any recommendations on colorways if this isn’t the move?

Since we’re on this topic … Does anyone know why mini H bags don’t come with a lock and keys? Not that I will ever use one, but I don’t think 25s need a lock either and they come with one!

@kelsenia such a colourful presentation- exuding joy! Love to see this. Another fun of the KP here. Post more photos carrying this beautiful bag please. About the colour combo try different ones that’s the advantage of accessories on bags. (LOL) I ‘ve never tried that Iam more of a ‘naked’ bag person but nowadays I do add the occasional twilly.
@benjinito thats a very good question! I asked and was told that the lock & key is a remnant from the days when those bags were luggage sized, trunks etc. Over the years they evolved into handbags and the locks were retained as part of the history even though nobody really locks their bag any more. Why would you lock your bag? When the Kelly shrunk to a mini it would look too fussy to have the lock - even scaled down… my own view is that is also more economical to exclude it. All that handstiching in small scale items is very skilled work.

I am generally a fan of adding a charm, and I do love the Rodeos and Pegases, but I think with the size of the KP, it would just overwhelm and distract from the beauty of your bag.

If you do want to accessorise it, perhaps you could look into the Cadenas instead? But personally with the KP, I'd leave it clear.

Love it! How about pegasus for day, and take it off for night/formal outfits? Enjoy in great health and happy times!!

Ugh, so I have to vent a bit.

I was eyeing two different 140 scarves and facetimed my cousin (who was with his mom) when my SA was pulled away to ask which one I should get and they said both were ugly. I went ahead and bought both because who cares what they think?! A couple days later my aunt (said cousin’s mom) shows off her newest purchases to our family group chat. Guess what they were - BOTH scarves in the same exact colorway I showed them! And now all of my other aunts are buying the same exact scarves..

When I joked that I’m a trendsetter, my aunt denied I showed the scarves to her before she purchased them and accused me of copying her?

I’m kinda annoyed but also like, whatever. It’s not worth my time to argue. They’re scarves and I’ll still enjoy the heck outta them. But still…. This isn’t the first time she copy-bought after me.

My SA and I joked that at least she won’t be able to copy my bag purchases.. fingers crossed 🤞 but seriously 🫠

Has this happened to any one else? How did you handle?

So sorry that this happened to you. I’m appalled that your aunt acted like a high schooler.

IMHO there is nothing to handle. I’d just say “glad you enjoy your scarves” and not entertain such immaturity/rudeness. And of course keep distance from future drama

Wow. And to gaslight you. What a toxic snake. Unfriend. Probably talks 💩 behind you too.

“Oh you don’t remember that? Are you ok? Maybe you should check for early onset Alzheimer’s ?”

Oh Red now you’ve done it :whiteflag:
Treating it like a cashmere 90 with folding it up with all those yummy floral colors up by the face. Now you’ve done it. This is brilliant! I’m so screwed now to this idea and my wallet having said to stop at just the one triangle
Now how do we get H to lower the cost for half the fabric of a 140
@Nomad I’m tagging you here so as not to be OT in the AW24 scarf thread. I’m certainly not going to defend Hermes pricing, but I think the expectation that the CS triangles are mispriced in relation to their GM counterparts doesn’t fully account for the way the triangles are made. That hypotenuse hem isn’t especially easy to execute since the fabric is now on the bias, and the rouloteuses must surely have a challenge before them unlike that of a straight hem. Just a thought, and again, not meant to defend the pricing strategy.

The price increases in recent years combined with a rather large pile (and a number of other factors enumerated in a few threads on this subject) have certainly caused me to be less impulsive with my seasonal purchases but when there’s a truly worthy candidate for acquisition, one that I think will have staying power in my wardrobe, the wallet just seems to magically crack open. What’s a girl to do, for now, except accept the inevitable?:flowers:
