I’ve found that getting a replacement clochette/lock/keys is pretty straightforward, but takes months, at least at Madison where lead times seem especially long, and of course you’ll be without your bag.Hello TPFers, It’s been forever since I was around these threads so pls forgive me if this isn’t the best place to ask my question!
I purchased a second hand travel Bolide Relax that has it’s clochette and pair of keys but is missing the cadena. I see eBay has several options out of Japan for the most part. But I don’t want to be stuck with counterfeit. Do you recommend it’s best I take the bag into an H boutique and request to purchase a lock to match my original keys?

Honestly, that's probably what I would do, given the time frame, at least at Madison. I'm guessing that even though there's no leather to match and so it should be a quick 'repair', they will want to take a look at the bag before they agree to do anything. That likely means there's no shortcut; you're in line with everyone else waiting to have their bag to pass muster before moving on to the repair stage. If the lock isn't essential, I'd just enjoy the bag without it.thank you
that makes me reconsider even wanting a lock! it was more to have the bag ‘complete’ than because I intended to use a lock. perhaps I should reframe my situation as, saving an ounce or two of carrying weight to simply enjoy the bag lockless!!

If you don't need a lock because you don't actually use it on the bag, perhaps wait? If you ever feel like you want to complete the set, you can always order one. Spoken as someone who has a zillion locks sitting in boxes unused.thank you

There are many threads on this; the "H relationship" thread is one.I have a question regarding shopping resale. For those who purchase both from your SA at a boutique and resale, how comfortable are you about that? Does your SA know? Is purchasing from resale considered just as bad as being a reseller?
Editing to add: I am not interested in purchasing something my SA can source for me. It’s about an item your SA tells you unlikely to be in an offer.
Would not be blatant about telling an SA that you made a purchase on the secondary market.I have a question regarding shopping resale. I’m with you but I suspect some people kept swept up in the moment and then have buyer’s remorse. I generally only return things that I have ordered online and thus size or styling didn’t work for me. I’ve only returned (read: exchanged) items to Hermès that my SA ordered for me and which, upon trying, were the wrong size…unsurprising given the inconsistency of RTW sizing. What I don’t understand is, do people really return that much? I have literally never returned anything I have purchased in person. I’m not judging those who do, I just don’t understand it.
If they bought it in store, they would only get store credit back right? So they’ll just have to buy something else and your SA would get her commission anyway?OK, tPFriends. This is the third time I have fallen into the same exact pile of manure so this one is completely on me. I have ended up at the local store with three separate friends who each don’t have their own SA, each made a purchase from mine and each have since returned the items. Of course, I understand they are grown adults who are responsible for themselves and, I know my SA is better than thinking it’s my fault but I still feel bad. I think my new hard rule is that I do not go shopping to Hermes with friends who don’t have their own sales people anymore. I have to now actively refuse that activity, as fun as it may be.

You are likely not the first who has brought friends into shop at H with returns. It happensOK, tPFriends. Don’t be hard on yourself for shopping with your friends that didn’t have SAs. They’re your friends and it’s the reason why we are on TPF - it’s fun to connect with others who love fashion and handbags.OK, tPFriends.
