I feel slightly ridiculous even asking this, but does anyone have an H umbrella? I need a new one and there is one on the website that looks nice. And of course it's an insane price to pay for an umbrella but I'm sitting here thinking to myself, "but I bet it's super well made and will never invert itself like all the rest do in strong winds!" :P
I got a none branded one from their boutique because of the heavy rain. It is from very good quality. So I would think the one in the webshop should be better? But the price is insane indeed.

Not going to lie. I have thought about getting one too. The handle looks like it is very well made. I will be very upset if it inverts itself lol

Excuse-me for bumping this thread. Though I had bought one some years ago. Both, the "foldable compact" one as well as the classic "long version" are both very well made. Though IMO both are really very heavy.
I decided on the foldable one, since the classic one did not come with a "sleeve". (I do not like leaving such an umbrella at the door, nor take it dripping through a boutique/restaurant. The foldable one does not have an "automatic" opening (if I recall correctly neither did the other), so I had to use both hands to open it. This and the really heavy weight made me gift it to a male family member (who then "lost it" having left it at the entrance of a nice boutique...). Hope that helps. If you don't mind the weight - beautiful umbrellas.

This is very helpful! I was looking at the foldable one, as well. But I think I need a push button to open. Can't pay that much for an umbrella and then have to do physical labor! 😋

Hi Hermes lovers! I was hoping you could help me make a decision regarding my B30 as to whether to let it go in exchange for a large Kelly.

So I have had my B30 for 4 years now and love the look, but honestly do not find it a comfortable or useful bag. I use it about once a year. I find it boxy and ‘in the way’, partly because my kids are young so need my hands free to hold their hands etc. if I am being honest I also feel self conscious carrying it as I feel it is a statement being so recognisable.

I have 3 Kelly 25s in neutral colours that work 100% for me. Love the shoulder strap and look of the sellier and retourne styles. I do not feel self conscious in the slightest carrying them and take them everywhere and anywhere

I don’t need a larger capacity very often, but when I do the B30 is my only option. So I am thinking to sell the B30 and buy a K32 instead.

The questions remain in my mind are
1. will I find B30 more useful as kids grow bigger and don’t need their hands held
2. will K32 in retourne be difficult to access due to the soft nature of the style (I currently have no issues with k25 in terms of access). Anyone who has one can they help me with this?
3. I will ultimately loose money on the transaction as B30 was pre-loved and k32 I like is from a reseller so it will cost me £5,000 to buy and sell Is it worth it ? I thought about buying the Kelly and waiting before selling the birkin but I really don’t have the funds to do this.

thanks for your thoughts and opinions guys!

My wrath if this happened would know no bounds lol
so happy to meet other crazy umbrella lovers here. Yes they are heavy - but will last for ever - if we dont loose them first. I had the full size one for a few years now and is indestructible. Tested in rough terrains. More likely to fly with it Mary Poppins like, rather than get inverted.

My 2 cents as a recent empty nester. Yes, I do think you may find the B30 more useful as the kids get older. You may appreciate having the variety of the two different styles of bags. I didn't have problems getting in and out of the K32. I would hold on to the B30 for now, if you can, especially since you said you don't really need a larger capacity bag that often. If that's the case, you may ultimately grow out of that need altogether and end up regretting selling the B30 for the K32

Excellent questions - I know it may be difficult but do try to hang on to the birkin - until you test drive the Kelly 32.
Having said that, it is completely lifestyle dependant. I am letting go of my only birkin, because it was an imaginary lifestyle purchase. I bought it during the pandemic as a chic travel bag and I also bought a car. I have since sold the car and the birkin just doesn't work without it. I also have a vintage kelly 32 in box - it fits A LOT but is not as convenient as a tote. When I use K25 is combined with a cotton tote for any impromptu shopping or overspills. These bags are not the most practical options - but nevertheless we love them no? A plume in the larger sizes like a 32 can also fit a lot and is easier access than a kelly. (though it doesn't have a strap, so if you need a strap that doesn't help) Anyway - keep us posted how it evolves. Show us some photos too.
