I can't help but feel a bit sad that this lovely 2023 Fall/Winter Planifleurs scarf is already being resold. I should probably work on that, this is a material item after all. I guess for me, items of artistic value hold a different weight - do others feel like this? Don't know the circumstances as to why its being resold so not commenting on that.

Usually, it's because someone was gifted it or bought it for themselves and then wore, but then found he/she is not a scarf wearer/lover or the colour/design felt all wrong after a brief wear.

I'm lucky I've never regretted buying after wearing but a lot of people I know have.

Is it just me or is there less posts and responses on the Hermes forum?
I have the same feeling. I feel this has gone on for a few months. I thought it’s because of summer?
The only active postings are those about pre-spend and Paris. IMO.

Always happens in the Summer. Quieter at the weekends too.

It's good that everyone's out enjoying wearing the their H!

Thank you! I appreciate those possibilities which adds a positive outlook that is helpful.

Hopefully this is the right place for my question. I was looking at a 1970s box Kelly and saw that the metal square beneath the Hermes Paris stamp looks like it’s leaning towards one side rather than being even like my other bags. Not sure if this is strange or not uncommon in vintage bags? Photo might show what I mean:

I find this weird, tbh. I've owned many vintage Kellys and their hardware is never uneven like this. Given how shiny that hardware is, it might have been replaced at some point, but I can't imagine that H would replace it in such a crooked way, either. Maybe an outside "repair"?

You’re probably right. Oh well, onward with the search! Btw, where do you normally go for vintage H bags? :flowers:

I guess that’s a good thing? Perhaps indication of less demand?

I've been checking in once sometimes twice most days but I have to confess I've found the forum (possibly an unpopular opinion?) a little boring of late...
I find less posts that teach me something, less interesting eye-candy (bar the incredibly stylish regular posters in the in-action threads..not naming any names but they are posters who post in many threads and always with an assortment of bags and scarves and rtw).
I am frankly bored with the obsession with spends, and unboxing of the same bags and seeing the same questions.
This sounds like a moan..I apologise I love this forum.
It used to inspire me but I find It a bit of a turn off of late feeling the desperation and hunger for quota bag offers.
And I've been finding some posts quite irritating.
Sorry :frown:

I’m brave enough to risk eBay, which is where I’ve found many of my vintages (tbh, I don’t think eBay is any worse than most resellers). I don’t trust TRR at all, and most of the big resellers I DO trust (sort of!) are out of control on pricing anyway. The other place I go is auctions, but only if I can see the bag in person.
You found a gem at a great price though with your Gulliver Kelly…I am so envious! I literally thought this morning “I should look for another 32 in Havane” and then saw your post!

If you want Rouge H Box there’s a lot out there, it just takes patience and scrutiny :flowers:

it's forum fatigue, and it goes in cycles.
the trick is to not opening every thread, not feeling responsible to answer any question (because believe me, someone else will), and taking long breaks. by long, I mean really long, like not logging in for months or even a year or two or three. I've done that and it's quite invigorating. I also go to other subforums (VCA, Goyard, Handbags and Purses) see what people are talking about. perhaps it's easier for me because I'm not really loyal to Hermès. lol

there are always newbies coming in with a lot of the same questions that have been asked before, and those who have been here a while who have gotten their desired bags for the time usually become quiet after some time until they buy new bags again, and there is only so much to talk about regarding Birkins and Kellys, really. also, H being way behind in churning out bags (more behind than usual) is certainly not helping with the variety of eye candy being shown :D.
