Hi guys,I hope this is the right part of the forum to post my question.
I would like to know if any of you with cashmere/silk scarves hand-wash them or have them exclusively dry cleaned? I just bought a preloved cashmere/silk Losange , generally I hand-wash all my cashmere and I have never had any issues (I am really careful).

I usually dry clean, but I believe most scarf collectors here hand wash cold with a color catcher sheet to prevent bleeding and dry flat. My Frette boutique manager just told me that he recommends a grocery store brand called purex for the sheets. I haven’t tried it yet bc I cannot find the unscented version, but when I do, I might dilute some and use it.

I always hand wash and air dry my CSGMs and cashmere scarves/dresses/cardis etc with no issues. They would probably look better dry-cleaned but I prefer to hand wash mine.

Another one for handwashing. They’re fine and I don’t see any colour run.

Hi - @MaiTai is an authority and has a great guide to washing:

There is also a whole thread here on TPF with good info:

Thank you!
Do people really iron the folding creases back on? The creases drive me crazy,to the point that if I don't have time to iron the chosen silk scarf before going out I just don't wear it.
I have to find a "draw" or a box big enough to keep the silk scarves out of their box and flat .
I find cashmere scarves easier as I roll them and store them in a box.

The creases bug me too. I just fold in half and hang on a hanger. Not complete greaseless but good enough.

If you iron straight after the wash when dry, the folds will stay put until the next wash. I could still see the original folds after the wash. You just follow the lines.
Then you can put it back in the box or in a drawer.
I have washed a few (CSGM too) and ironed. The ironing was very easy (it needs to be hotter than the silk setting though (as on the article above) and it’s quick and stays put. Iron when still slightly damp.

Hi, wondering if anyone has ever used WAX Insurance to insure their handbag collection? We have been trying to find a reputable insurer and have run into various issues with multiple big name companies (Chubb, AIG, Jeweler's Mutual). We are working with an insurance broker and he is now recommending WAX insurance.

We have Chubb Masterpiece through WAX Insurance Services.
