Yes and yes. And the delivery company, usually FedEx, says it requires a signature, but I have watched on too many occasions when they have just left the package on my doorstep and claimed that I signed for it. For this reason, I prefer to have things shipped to the store for me to pick up in case anything were to ever happen with the delivery.
Thanks for your detailed response! Next time I’ll ask to pick up the item because I don’t have a doorman.

When your SA orders something for you through charge send that will get shipped to your home, do you get tracking info? Also is the orange box inside a generic box? I’m nervous if it’s just the orange box, which may attract thieves.
I also find that there can be a delay of several days, maybe even a week, in between when my SA says he did the charge send and when I get the tracking info. I’m assuming this is the sending store preparing the order etc so don’t get nervous if you don’t get the tracking for a few days. There has been also at least one time that I never got tracking info but the box showed up anyways. The items come in a cardboard box or a FedEx box if small item with tamper evident tape. One time I had a coat shipped and it was a massive wardrobe box with a metal rod! You can imagine DH’s reaction when he saw THAT box!
The shipping is much faster if they do a “click in store” for purchases from the website. I also find that there is variability in shipping fees. It is usually $0 but a few times there has been a shipping fee, and I think it was for insurance for jewelry? I don’t know- I didn’t ask. Can’t wait to see what you got! (Oh the etoupe dress?)

ETA: agree with @loh that ship to store is a great idea to prevent missed deliveries. One time my SA shipped some stuff to our vacation house when we were not there and that literally took over a month to resolve!! After 3 attempts, FedEx holds it in their facility for another 14 days before returning back to shipper. Luckily it wasn’t something really important- it just took forever.

Ooh good to know! I didn’t get my tracking info yet and sure enough was getting antsy, but it’s been less than 24hrs.

Nope not the etoupe dress. My SA said he would put me on the list for that one, but didn’t offer to charge send it? I’m not sure why. But he ordered the dress below. I tried it in white, which I loved but it was see through. IMG_7194.jpeg

How’s the fit on that one? TTS? What’s the collar situation like?

I love that dress!!! Saw it online but haven’t seen it IRL! Glad you like how it fits! I may have to try that on next time I’m in the store, if they have it!

Maybe he sees the etoupe dress in your size coming to the store so he’s tagging it with your name? Do you think that’s what he meant? My SA does that a lot; like I only have this size right now but I see your size coming later (not sure why they don’t all come at once), so I’ll tag it for you.

I hope that’s what he meant! He said he would let me know when he gets it in. I hope it’s soon!!

Not sure if it matters, but I just learned H sends FedEx ground for items under 6K. So a bit of a delay there too
My old SA at my local store used to overnight everything to me, even if it was just for one item less than that amount. I would do the payment link and it would show up at my door the next day- super convenient!! But my long distance SA seems to send most things (I feel like even if more than $6k) FedEx Ground as @880 said… and it usually takes a day to tender it to FedEx and then 3-4 days to deliver. Shipments do arrive any day of the week, including Sundays. My DH worked it out with the FedEx delivery guy so now he leaves packages in a certain place so DH doesn’t have to go to the door to sign, since he’s in a lot of zoom meetings all day and got annoyed with all my deliveries. :P If we’re away, I contact FedEx to put my deliveries on vacation hold.

Shipments from Paris seem to vary as well. Small items come via DHL directly and any issues I deal with DHL. This last shipment was a higher value shipment, and they used a third party vendor who coordinated shipping via FedEx. That was actually really great because I did have some issues with customs and the contact person at the shipping company helped me resolve them by liaising with Hermes and was in contact with me regularly about the status. I don’t know who I would’ve contacted at Hermes if they didn’t use this third party.

@Bdbunny, I agree, and I was thinking about long distance transfer when I mentioned fed ex ground. When I spoke of FEd ex ground, I was thinking of items that were not in the local store, that our SA had transferred from BH and FL most recently DHs sweaters. He was a bit irritated that H sent by fed ex ground. (His total cost for two gorgeous sweaters was 5K plus, but they were sent from different locations). I told him he shouldn’t complain lol bc we didn’t see those sweaters at Madison, and so we’re lucky to have found them. Also, I’m envious that mens prices are so much better Lol.

But, when I buy from H Madison, my SA messengers usually same day if in the Am. Or I might get it next day, if I buy in the afternoon. Are your local items sent by Fed ex?

Yep, same here, Madison messengers to me. I was told this is standard for most items and always for iconic bags.

Yep, they are always FedEx, even from my local store (not Madison). Maybe the messenger service is only in the city? Which would be amazing! Pretty soon it'll be by drone lol!

I have the same sentiment regarding FedEx ground as your hubby. Knock wood, no issues so far with H items, but I have had issues with items for work, which is annoying. I also think my long distance SA used to overnight things but then it changed to Ground and I was like, hmm budget cuts? Or maybe he got comfortable with me...

I'm not important enough to have things delivered by Ferrari... just Fedex GROUND. lol. :P (like they're in the back saying, "oh she's definitely GROUND."

I don't get Ferrari either. And I think my messengers are, like, Postmates (which is what Net-A-Porter uses!).
Cartier sends lovely messengers in suits - wish I needed more from Cartier :graucho:
