Nice is not connected to Cannes, Paris, Monaco as it’s a franchise store. The other three are all connected.

Hello friends,
I’m going to Nice/Monaco/Marseille in April and would like to visit Hermes stores. I’m interested in purchasing some scarves and maybe a Picotin bag.
1. Do I have to make appointments in advance? How does it work?
2. In your opinion, is Picotin currently hard to get?
3. How does VAT refund work at Hermes?
Much appreciated!
Many thanks,
Gabie
I don't know about Marseille, but you don't need an appointment to visit Nice or Monaco. I have no experience asking for a Picotin, but Nice is a much smaller store than Monaco, and is a "franchise" store that doesn't get as much inventory, as far as I know. In terms of VAT, the store will provide you with the documentation, and you can process at the Pablo kiosk at the airport.
Thank you anniek20!! I’ve never been to any Hermes boutique before so this would be the very first experience - I’m excited and nervous at same time .
The information about the difference between Nice and Monaco store is very helpful - I’ll try to visit both but will prioritise the Monaco one.
Given the size and stock availability, I guess the Monaco store is very busy?! Do you tend to have to queue up for long? Would it be best to come very early before opening time?
Monaco is busy, but I’ve never had to line up to enter. Consider visiting the Cannes store as well. It is on par with Monaco in terms of size/stock.
I visited all 3 stores back in Feb and none of them required to line up. Nice is the smallest store and I saw one picotin on display but it was for display only. Monaco is the biggest and has more stocks in general but not in handbags. They offered me a Kelly to go in exotics which I did not take it. The SA in Monaco simply implied to me that that most high demand bags are reserved mostly for their locals.
I like the Nice store,bc they have even older scarfs. I found several ones I had missed out buying when they were new. Thanks for the tip - will see if I can squeeze Cannes in

I just randomly asked about non quota bags but still hard to get styles like mini Evelyn, mini Lindy then she said stocks are super slow but just had a exotics Kelly to go if I would like to see it. I am not into wallet style purse so I declined it. I had purchased history in France since around 11 years ago. I only purchased few small items in Monaco. I would say Nice has the best service, but both Cannes and Monaco are similar nice as well. I got my Birkin in Paris with my usual SA this time.Omg!! That is the dream to most people, isn’t it?! . Did you come in and specifically ask for a Kelly? Did you have any purchase history? What was your haul in the end ? Are the SAs in Monaco nice? I would be unhappy if I get ‘told off’ and given attitude for turning down a bag. I understand working for a prestige brand give you some sort of ‘status’ but at the end of the day, we are customers spending our hard-earned money (just my thought ).
