Be prepared to get less than 20%…I only got 10% back =( but I shopped at selfridges and I was wondering if maybe there were additional processing fees with them?

10% is pretty usual in London from my experience. You can get the full 20% off at airport duty-free as there are no processing charges.

Actually I read somewhere that if your purchases (not in the airport) in UK exceed £10,000, then the vat refund goes up to 14% or 15%? Is this true?

Because usually I shop in Paris and the standard refund from Hermes is 10%.

But I have never shopped in London. But I must say I am tempted because of the dropping exchange rates and the vat refund.

Hope someone could share something on this

I didn't hear that about the decreased fees, and I have spent more than 10K at a time in NBS. To be fair I never checked the refund % but I feel like someone would have "sold" me on the detaxe were that the case. I hope it is the case as I have a big purchase coming up.
That said, London is still a great deal right now.

Well, I read this article:

https://www.bragmybag.com/where-to-find-highest-tax-refund-for-hermes-bag/

This article is a little old because I realized that Hermes Paris only gives 10%.

But the vat refund amount for U.K. is the same as stated in the article if I were to use the Global Blue refund calculator.

However, with Hermes Paris, we do not get the same as stated in the calculator.

So I am thinking that perhaps Hermes UK returns VAT around 12-13% if not 15% for purchases above £10,000?

Perhaps you could check with your SA too since you are planning a big purchase. It seems big savings!!

Then you could share with us this info [emoji6]

The tax refund in H NBS was the same as Harrods 13%. But my shopping was below GBP 5K. Not sure if the refund % increases as the spending increases. Took cash refund (in GBP) in airport with another processing fee of GBP 4.

From what I remember, Selfridges 'only' offer 10% VAT refund, hence I try to shop in Harrods if possible

Hope that helps.

Hi All!
I'm going to London end of this month, and looking forward to score B/K/C, really excited about it! Especially they have almost 20% of tax refund. Does anyone know about VAT refund in the UK? Since the BREXIT and they are not longer part of European Union, where should I claim the VAT refund? after UK I will go to Switzerland, do we claim our tax refund before leaving UK at Heathrow or claim it in the last EU country?
Thank you in an advance if someone can help me answer this.
Xoxo

The stock level in all H stores are horrible almost empty, bags on shelves are for display only just to keep it occupied. Tax refunds varies from 12-14% , if you spend roughly above £6K accumulating all receipts you could get 14% VAT back

Hello!!! I'm planning a visit to London in Late April and I'm obsessed with the idea of purchasing an Evelyn TPM! I purchased a gm in Paris last year and I absolute love it! Just want the smallest one now! How common are they? Do you recommend one location over another?

It's our first time in London before we move on to Bath, Scotland and Ireland so I'm unfortunately limited on shopping time. Any help is very much appreciated!

Thank you in advance!
