Is the private sale usually very busy? Do you have to queue to get in and do you get a specifict date/ time to be there once you register? Has there ever been a private sale in London before or is this a first. I'm hoping it will be better than normal with potentially unsold stock from the Pandemic time
yes I've attended other private sales in London but they were a while back and were mainly RTW, scarves, shoes and gloves, hats etc.
I haven't had an invite to this one yet.

I popped into NBS this afternoon as I was in the area. My main relationship is with SS but they couldn’t have been lovelier.

First stop chap at the top of the stairs who deals with the queue for bags (15 min wait). To save waiting I asked him if they had any Picotins - i literally said “got any Picotins” pronouncing the tin as in tin of beans (my sister lives in Paris and would have disowned me at this point if she’d been with me :giggle:). He said they were out of stock.

I also asked about silk scarves and he sent me downstairs where i was seen straight away. An SA put in an order for some scarves I was after and said she’d look out for the gold Picotin i was after. She also said they had just received a delivery of Twillies and showed me a tray of them - there was 20-30 in there. I didn’t buy as I’d just got one off H.com only this week. They also have some winter silk scarves on order which they are still waiting to receive

I also asked about the private sale and whether they would be spreading stock out over the sale period to avoid a crush on day one and she said yes they would.

Note that I am not in the world of BKC but I hope people find this useful

I ve never been to one before, nor even in Paris and very excited. However it’s bound to be a smaller event the world is now different and they have to keep it safe. When I asked my SA about number she said only a few clients were invited - but there will be other future events with possibly a different list - they will keep them quite small for obvious reasons.

A bit off topic but wanted to quickly chime in to say that I think London has some of the best Hermes boutiques in the world!! I recently returned after spending some time abroad. The London boutiques have fantastic service (even if you have to wait for a while) and the SAs truly try to help you and will chat with you about the brand, regardless of what you’re wearing or how busy it is. They seem to really focus on you when it’s your turn and it’s a wonderful experience.
Other boutiques I’ve been to, it feels like they CBA, esp with limited stock, they seem to have an attitude that if you aren’t going to drop four figures, they don’t have time for you.
feeling very lucky to to in this city with our multiple boutiques to really enjoy the brand

The main thing is what we are going to wear, this is practically an event in itself. (Or shall I start a new thread where we can post goodies as well? )What are you wearing, I ve been so starved of any events… I’m more interested in what to wear than the actual shopping.
I guess nothing hermes based on the comment U have to hand it in  …so something comfortable ha … love your energy for this! It’s nice to have some normality back!

Hi everyone. I’ve found the comments and advice on here really helpful so thought I would share my wish list experience with you all. I usually shop in Paris so am fairly new to London boutiques. I placed a wish in December at NBS, then changed the request in February. It expired at the start of July and I didn’t renew the wish as my SA was unavailable and also I don’t live in London (I visit maybe twice a year). I was planning to renew / make a new wish on my next visit at the end of September. A week ago I got an email telling me my wish had arrived! This was 7 weeks after the wish had expired. So I have no idea how this all works. It seems a bit random to me

Yes the process sometimes seems like smoke and mirrors but well done - what did you wish for?

When you say you changed the request in Feb, do you mean you changed bag types (e.g. from B to K) - which would have reset the clock? In any case wishes last 8 months so your Dec/Feb wish wouldn’t have expired at the beginning of July  But congrats!
