How do I build up a relationship with an SA? I'm kind of new...

why would you want to build up a relationship with a SA?
are you looking for a partner?
Just shop, be normal, be enthusiastic, be informed
how would you behave if you were shopping anywhere else
don't 'try' to build up a relationship
be honest
don't believe all you read on social media
if all you want is a quota bag make that clear from the start
don't be dishonest and pretend to love all things Hermes just because you want to spend £10,000 in the hope of getting a Birkin.

Anyone else struggling to get an appointment for NBS on the weekends? I just called up and they said they had no more weekend slots until the end of July!
Yes:)

Try Selfridges or Royal Exchange. Even if they are smaller, I find them more friendly and helpful. They can always order for you what you are after, if you have something specific in mind.

Good Luck!

Good point, it appears to cater for the ‘local’ city crowd - the area is always deserted weekends even pre covid. I still have a soft spot for that store- calm atmosphere, not sure if it will appeal to birkin hunters.
It’s my fave store, partly because it’s dangerously close to the office but also because it feels more personal than others. Stock can be limited but they’re always willing to order items in.

I’ve only heard good things too - I’m still WFH so unfortunately it’s not a convenient store for me at the moment. But if my wishlist expires without being fulfilled at the end of this year I think I might go and shop at Royal Exchange.

I am in London for Wimbledon and to drop my daughter off at Summer school. I passed the Hermes boutique and another one at Harrods and both had lines! Is this a common occurrence in London? This on a Friday and the store was relatively empty. I have only seen one Birkin walking around, but it was a beautiful rainbow Birkin 35 on Piccadilly across from Green Park.

Yes, since things opened up again because of the restriction on capacity and people wanting to shop there seems to be a queue at most/all Hermes!

Mostly by appointment only ATM, all walk-ins usually queue first. Lines usually start around Midday so if anyone needs to go, haven't booked an appointment, go earlier in the morning.

Ach! I just left my youngest at school at Oxford and I have separation anxiety. I am going to walk by the Hermes boutique to calm my sadness.

I feel like brands are enjoying the lines and appointments system. People who waited long enough are more likely to make a purchase and other customers when seeing long lines get the impression of something exclusive being sold there that worth the wait. I wouldn't be surprised if the stores adopt some of these policies permanently. I went to Hermes Harrods last week and even though the line was not particularly long the customers inside the store were served very slowly and the stock was extremely low.

I was speaking to my SA and they said lines not only due to space restrictions but also because numbers of staff needed to self-isolate

You Hermes fans in London are very fortunate to have so many Hermes stores.

Yes, I feel in London we are spoilt with a number of large Hermes boutiques, though I suppose this is for all luxury goods in general in this city - definitely do not take it for granted
