Hermes boutiques in London

I’ve just seen on Instagram that Hermès are stopping the wishlist system in the UK? Has anyone heard anything about this?
Which account did you see this on? I think it’s highly unlikely, considering this is a universally accepted way of potentially getting a quota bag. Why would they randomly decide to exclude a whole market? I only started my wishlist recently and I went in for an appt yesterday and my SA didn’t mention anything about this.

The wishlist system is new and being rolled out worldwide. It’s definitely not being phased out and I think Sellier who posted this were simply misinformed. It can be that the wishlist is closed from time to time due to a particular store having received too many requests and being worried about being unable to fulfil them though.

I’ve just seen on Sellier’s Instagram that they’ve now backtracked and said making lists in the U.K. is possible but closed in some other stores in other countries - as said above most likely because they now have too many and production isn’t high right now as we know... but call me pessimistic, but isn’t Sellier’s whole business model as a reseller/consignment? Don’t they have the most to benefit from spreading this sort of (mis)information?

Hm it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve seen misinformation on their insta account. I’m always surprised as how they claim they are the largest reseller of Hermes bags and they make claims about certain colours being more expensive than others...not sure how robust their knowledge is

I hate the way they and Luxury Promise tout Hermes as an investment too! It’s not always an investment and it is misleading to tell people that it is. Don’t want to derail this thread but LP and Sellier both benefit from the idea that getting a store fresh bag is ‘impossible’

Just saw the Sellier story about no longer being able to "wish" for a Birkin in the UK and/or Germany and/or Austria, and I'm horrified!

Does this mean Londoners should be planning to travel to Paris as soon as that's possible, or shopping from resellers?

Or are more seasoned Hermes shoppers confident their SAs will still be able to offer them bags this year (whether Birkin or other)?

Ignore the story-chances are its designed to create panic and therefore drive more people desperate for a Birkin to buy one from them at an inflated price.
They are NOT Hermes insiders have no affiliation with Hermes but are resellers making a profit from people 'flipping' their bag offers.
I was at H today no mention was made of stopping the wishlist.
Those with existing relationships will still get offered quota bags in the UK and those only wanting a B or K will still sign on the wishlist system.

Stock in London stores are so low at the moment! There are some items that I’m interested in that aren’t available in store, but available online. If I buy items online would it put me at a disadvantage/no progress for a quota bag? How are you supposed to build a purchase history when there’s nothing available? :(

You have got to decide what your priorities are.
Is it acquiring the items you are interested in or building up a purchase history in the hope of improving your chances for a quota bag?
If it is the latter, just wait until the stock levels are higher, then shop wisely.

Both ^^ I genuinely do love other items Hermes offers other than their handbags, so it doesn’t hurt knowing that other items I purchase could help towards that quota bag.

Yes they are low right now in London sadly (and most likely around Europe too), but if it’s available online you can order in store still and your SA can place the online order on your behalf. It’s another way of building that relationship. It will be delivered to the store and you can go and pick it up and have another chat with your SA and see if there’s anything else you like!

Does anyone have any recommendations for their fav store to visit? As I went to one store a couple of weeks ago shopped with what I thought was a lovely SA. I sent him a message last week asking for an appointment to pick up some goods I was interested in- he responded saying he didn’t have his schedule but he would put the items on hold. When I asked for how long he would hold the items he ghosted me! I refuse to beg anyone to give away my money- but I was surprised given that I was asking for things like sandals and blankets not quota bags! So any suggestions of best London stores to visit would be welcomed!

You are making heavy weather of this; over concerned with responses to your messages from SAs.
If you look back at yours posts you will see what I mean.
Just try and shop and be normal.
It is difficult at the moment not being able just to roll up and drop in, I know.
Nonetheless don't read too much on social media and get a complex about having to behave differently at Hermes.
A lot of the difficulties you read about are from people who cause them by their demeanour or attitude.
