Happy to help! Honestly, I love Selfridges and have a great relationship with many SAs there, but if I am to concentrate my business in one store I would do the same as you and go for NBS, because I think it’s less complicated and easier to get exactly what you want ;)
ooh interesting! I got my first bag at NBS but honestly, it's SUCH a zoo there usually. CP is usually super calm and i can build relationships with SAs more easily

i think the City location may also be a bit of a hidden gem...

RE is a great place to build a relationship as there are less tourists and more in/out clients. I like the SAs at all London boutiques but places like Harrods and even NBS can get so zoo-like it's hard to have a chat.

Not sure about bags but I've actually seen quota bags offered there. H/S/RE/NBS all offered me non-quota bags from their stock but not quite what I was looking for.

Absolutely agree that if you show up regularly to any of the locations you will eventually get on the radar.

Thank you so much for this info.
 OMG, maybe hubby missed the wallet-code...he was so determent to get the right bag for me....and I told him ..."pay attention, not the Kelly cut, I wan't the Kelly pochette" LOL. He almost got me the Kelly Wallet just so he wouldn't leave empty handed...but then he remembered my words.....
Hehe, it can be really tricky, you can’t really know for sure what’s going to happen, but I can tell you that Kelly Pochette is pretty scarce in both stores.

Absolutely! It helps even more if you buy a twilly, a cologne, shoes, not everything at the same time of course, just to show that you genuinely love the brand. What all of them hate for sure are customers only interested in quota bags. IMHO, it’s not about spending loads of money, it’s more about showing appreciation for the brand. I’ve even told them, more than once, that I couldn’t afford anything else but a single twilly that month and never felt despised for that. ;)

One more place to try!

I have to echo what is said about RE it really is a cornucopia of goodies. I used to frequent there a lot when I was working in London. It was there where I was introduced to the homewares and after a couple of visits I was asked when would I consider getting another bag. I was quite content with what I had at the time so I declined but was told when I was ready just ask. They are so nice in there.

The atmosphere in Selfridges has changed, I stopped going there when the 2 SAs I worked with left, but after a hiatus from the store I went in by chance and found the nicest SA who is rather attentive to my requirements. Saying that I still rank NBS as my best shopping experience.

I'd also expand on the SA point: for my home store I tend to signal when I will stop by but for the others I drop in when I'm in the area/when I feel like it. There are SAs at each of those stores who I look out for, and I find asking for them by name when they aren't there also shows the team that I'm more than just a passerby - and the SAs are noticeably more attentive at that point.

All that said, I'm not seeking quota bags. Once you are looking for anything specific it tends to spark a bit of stress.

I do find it's difficult for the London stores to request stock transfer between themselves and I tend to just vote with my feet rather than make my SA jump thru hoops. There is enough buying to go around

With regards to shopping experience I generally prefer stand alone boutiques to department stores for the calmness. The buzz of a department store is a different vibe and not always one I'm seeking.

That said the one drawback of RE is no drinks! At least not that I've seen or been offered. It would be lovely to sit in their chairs with a nice tea or champers but then I'd get no work done lol

Ya i agree with this! They seem to struggle / be reluctant to move things between store.

Phew this thread makes me so happy that my SA isn't insulted by my shopping at other boutiques!! I felt like i was cheating on her...

My SA even confirmed that it's the customer's choice when / where to buy. Obviously out of loyalty if I can I will buy from my SA, and they know what they store has ordered etc. Pretty sure the U.K. stores can see your history between them, anyhow.

The other point is that because the SA knows me, the suggestions bring to light things I hadn't considered (and, are by definition in stock)!

Omg, my SA seems to know what I will want and suit my lifestyle better than me. How is that possible?? Here I am, thinking I have such great taste, and my SA consistently surprises me with really good recos that I'd never purchase for myself
