Hi all! Planning a trip to Lyon next month and have been coveting an Evelyne PM (gold, etoupe… something that goes with everything). What are my best chances of scoring in Lyon? I’ve only purchased one item from H previously (watch band). Should I make an appt? Just show up? Thanks!

Hi! 👋 I’m traveling to Lyon next month and have been interested in purchasing a Evelyne PM in a neutral color (black, Etoupe, gold, navy… not too picky). I have only ever purchased one item at an H boutique in the US (watch band). What are my chances of acquiring the bag during my trip? What is the best way to go about having the best luck? Thank you! 😊

The Lyon store is small but the staff is very nice. Just my friend was offered a pico 22 so just ask and if they say they don’t have stock you can ask about when would be a good time to return (assuming you’ll be there for multiple days). Good luck!

I was in Cannes, Nice, St Tropez, and Chamonix in July while staying in France for 6 weeks. Nice was the nicest. I was offered a Kelly to Go which I declined. It’s just very difficult to open. Cannes was very nice and helpful. I bought shoes and cashmere scarf and was asked what I was looking for bag wise, but nothing was available. Chamonix was the worst store I’ve been in. Completely rude. And told they were closing for lunch in 15 mins and no one could help me. So I took my money and walked over to Loro Piana and was offered champagne the moment I stepped in and bought a pair of impossible to find summer walk charms. The last ones in the store in my size. They even showed me in the back room there were no more my size. St Tropez was tiny and the stores are not one big store. The bags are in one store, the shoes in another. But still service was not friendly. But it was an incredibly hot, crowded day in July and there was a loud American man there arguing about how his wife wasn’t offered anything and she shopped there last year. So that could have contributed to their attitude. Didn’t go to Monaco store. But recommend Nice. Even though they’re an independent store.

"There was a loud American man arguing about how his wife wasn’t offered anything, even though she shopped there last year." - I can only imagine the French sales associates must have raised their eyebrows, lol

I am in Strasbourg for a vacation. I stopped at Hermes store just for eye candies but they didn’t have much on display (1 Herbag, 1 bolide, and 1 mini Lindy). My husband requested leather appointment even though I was skeptical and knew they probably sell QBs only to locals. To my surprise SA was very lovely and she took my wish list without any promises though. She was very nice. We had quite chat about leathers and I was particularly looking for a Kelly in Box leather 25 or 28. Then she showed us some wallets and we liked one but since we didn’t get our passports for tax return with us since I didn’t plan to buy anything we decided to come back next day. When we came next day, I did some more shopping.
After we finished our shopping our SA said that she can offer something special for me and took me to a dressing room where I was offered stunning B25 Rough Piment in Box leather with palladium hardware. My heart just skipped a beat. I didn’t expect to be offered such a beauty.

Anyway looks like it’s always worth to try to inquire about your dream bag even at small stores in small cities because you never know when you get lucky. But also I think my purchase history at FSH helped.

When we came next day, I also tried and buy some shoes, belt and wallet we reserved from previous day. We saw a lady (maybe local because they spoke French) who was offered a B25 retourne I believe in swift leather in gris meyer or similar color and K28 toile in some white color. She was trying both bags in shoes area.
