No, please. I think it is better to go and visit- to form an opinion and report back. Have your eyes open and maybe we can learn something. Good luck!

Dear varvara,

I am absolutely shocked to hear about the things going on at the Hermes store in Vienna. I think it's wonderful that you taking the time to complain about this! Hopefully things will change an we can all enjoy Hermes shopping there again.
I have been lurking around the Hermes forum for a while now and have come to fall in love with their bags and shoes. Since Vienna is my nearest store I was actually planning to visit next week to buy a wallet, boots and scarf and to inquire about the possibility of being put on the waitlist for K and Constance. But after hearing this it seems useless to try to build a relationship with an SA in this store.

May I also ask in which store you are shopping now? Thanks!

Did not read this entire thread, will go back to read this when i have more time.

I think we may be speaking of the same store, franchised and in Salzburg?
A very good friend travels to purchase often and only raves of the service and owner(mother and son).
I have been invite yearly to go and visit, hopefully, my schedule may allow this year.
I have actually recommended friends who visit to stop by and say hello to the owners.

Let me check my info and confirm that it is indeed the same H, sorry to hear this is happening.

Unfortunately, they(any franchise) do not operate not under the same umbrella.
Hi Everyone,
i was in the H store in Wien in May of this year and Frau Elfie and Magrit waited on me and they were absolutely gracious, served me French champagne, no Austrian sekt for H in Wien, and I only purchased one cotton/silk scarf. I made most of my purchaes at H in Salzburg. It is a "partner" store, H doesnt use the term franchise, as is the H store in Naples, Florida, where I shop also.
But my fav in all of Europe is the H store in Prague/Phaa, corporate/company store and not on the Euro and wonderful service.
Hope this "drama" ends soon and we can all enjoy our H this summer.
BTW, Fasioniista O when are you coming to Europe with me to shop in al of these 5 H stores!
LOL

Please, dear members. This thread is for people who have bad experience with this one concrete store- Vienna. Hence the name of the thread. It is about shady tactics and bad service at this very boutique.

I really don't want this thread to turn into a bunch of posts on "who deserves a birkin and who doesn't". This thread is NOT about it. If people have anything to say about that, please do post in other threads, or I will contact the mods.

Let us please stick to the topic as this might help all of us at the end of the day.

Thank you!

:flowers:

Well, yes, calling on a higher authority, whether here on the forum or in other parts of life, is often the best idea. It seems to me to be the only option with regard to the goings-on in Vienna. Should the OP or anyone else get any substantive response from Hermes regarding your complaints, I hope you will let us know.

that is terrible!
i entered the vienna store, asked for a CDC and got a silly response from an uninterested SA so just left.

BUT... from that to having handwritten receipts? come on, surely they can afford a register system that looks more professional and up to date?

Just FYI, Hermes in New Caledonia (franchise too) doesn't even give receipts (handwritten or otherwise). You get a form to collect your items at the airport. I thought the receipt would be with the items but no!

I had to call the store to email me a receipt so I would know how much each item was and it was basically a listing, not a receipt. It was rather surprising.

I'm so sorry to hear of the horrible behaviour at the store. I was in Vienna in March and the SAs were all very nice but then I didn't ask about b/ks.

While I think it is good to write about such experiences on a public forum for the sake of warning other shoppers and enabling others to share similar experiences, I would not assume that Hermes will do anything just because they read about this behavior on TPF. They can hardly fire a store manager or sever ties with a franchise owner based solely on the stories told on the Internet by anonymous members. Hopefully you get enough information on this thread to send to Hermes' corporate office. And might I suggest that you have some definite requests as to what sort of actions you expect to see from Hermes. Such as, honoring the orders that were placed but "forgotten"; firing of shady employees; or even just a written apology from the store. Otherwise, you may get a lot of "I'm sorry you feel this way" and assurances that this will be "looked into", but that can mean anything or nothing depending on who you talk to. Best of luck!!

:smooch: was hoping you would chime in, very happy you did :smooch:

Lemme get this IP project wrapped and we fly together ;)

I hope to visit and report back, taking notes!

I agree, there is no chance this compilation of 'alleged' incidents and hearsay (which is how the store could spin these reports) is going to change anything. I think, what it may do (I hope) is spread awareness if anyone searches for Vienna boutique information on this forum, and maybe even on google this will pop up. So maybe it will prevent good buyers from wasting time and money with a corrupt boutique.

I've shopped at the Vienna store and the SA were very nice and kind and helpful.
There were two very nice and polite Asian ladies, they've helped me to buy all the presents.

Never talked to the manager, never asked for B/K though...

I was assuming that those affected by this might actually message varvara and then they all would take it from there. They would gather information, give their real names etc. then they would all be part of the complaint in written form?

What posting here will do is make people aware and identify who they are. That is impossible to do unless you post about it. You can never know who has had bad service etc. unless you read about it or someone tells you.

I was never under the impression that a big coorporation reads tpf or cares what is written about them by anonymous posters.

ouija board: It will be concrete, believe me. SM replaced along w some staff members in the first place.

lovely64that is exactly what happened. I got some messages.

I have 5 people already who want to write a complaint to the Headquarters. With concrete names and concrete experience.

Including myself.

I have some stories from the store, but of course all these will be mentioned in the official investigation into the subject.

Unfortunately, many of the customers of that store aren't members of TPF as here not many people know about it. If they were, they would post.

As for the few "good" experiences posted here, of course, there will always be exceptions to the rule. Especially for walk-in clients. These either get a good treatment, or bad (also posted here), but never they see how the store really functions. For this you have to be a regular and visit often. And live in a community, where this store is discussed often. Only then you can see the real modus operandi.

Well in their defense I would never say it has terrible service. I always get drinks and pleasant service, but I think the issue here is that as regulars we are not taken seriously enough , and I guess we are sick being lied to. I waited for 2 years believing my croc birkin was on it's way and hoped to have it by graduation- it won't happen unfortunately!

^^^Yes. You did get champagne and coffee, but your bag is nowhere.

I think Hermés is not about getting drinks or empty smiles, this is the smallest part of the whole picture. I can get drinks at home, or in the bar and my husband can smile at me for free as much as I wan to. But when I go to shop somewhere and I am a regular customer at a store where things are on the highest price end in retail, I expect a little respect not only as a client, but also as a human being.

I have been lied to there as well and this is my personal experience. My friend has been repeatedly deceived there too, she even complained to the owner of the franchise. I repeat, this is not a problem of bad service anymore, the problem at this store is much more complex.
