I checked on Max's free online price guide for a blue book price for the diamond and the GIA 1.22 Carat, E Color Grade, VS2 clarity Grade, Excellent Cut Grade had a price of $10,695. Verifying the blue book price for a diamond makes sense. -M

I still like the Beverly K and agree with the other ladies that you should find out if they will alter it to suit you. Also, did you get a chance to wear a Tacori sample around? I just wondered because it looks higher and less smooth edged so it that might get more caught on things. Both are so beautiful you can't really go wrong though :D

Opps forgot to update this thread, but the search still continues, except I just confused myself even more! The Berkeley K is out of the picture, it's a beautiful ring but the band is a little too thin to me, and it's too bubbly for the BF.

I was really just lurking for a while, and stumbled onto Kohls_Mascarra thread about Tiffany Sola..so the bf and I went to look at it, and I love that too lol. Pricewise it's a lot better than if I were to go with the Tacori and get a loose diamond for the same amount if not more finger coverage since the Sola has the double halo. And with the Tiffany I don't have to keep on looking for the right diamond, since their diamonds are pretty good quality already.

So...I have a couple of options but the BF wants me to be sure because I've been changing my mind so much for the last few months.

Basically if I go for the Tacori, he can stretch the budget a little if it's a really nice diamond...but I would like to stick to around the 12-13k price range. I've been looking for a 1.35-1.5 carat F-G color VS1-VS2 diamond and ideal cut, haven't had much luck though :( But I've been mainly stalking the GOG website, since they carry Tacori too so they can set it for me.

The Tiffany Sola..it'll be cheaper versus going with the Tacori setting, but I'll be getting a lot smaller diamond, but finger coverage will be the same. And since it's Tiffany I can get free cleaning and it's just more convienent. And even when I decide to go with the Tiffany Sola then I haven't decided between yellow versus white lol.

My biggest issue with the Sola is that the side profile isn't as intricate as I would like but the front profile is really nice.

So yeah....I just wanted to update everyone who's been so kind as to help me when I started this thread. Hopefully I didn't frustrate you as much as I did with my bf LOL.

hehe it's ok, thanks for the input though :) A lot of people like the Beverley K but the one that I posted has to be special order and I just wasn't crazy about it.

I would prefer the Tacori + a stone I selected, honestly. But you're also up against the holidays/ V-day rush so you might have more luck with finding a stone if you wait a little longer. Supplies are low.

If you love the Tiffany ring, and are willing to go with a smaller stone--be 1000% sure you will be ok with that!--get the Tiffany.

But I will say this...as much as I love GOG, if I was getting a Tacori, I'd have Tacori set my stone, not GOG. You're paying a LOT of that brand setting, have the brand set it.

OP - I just emailed GOG, they are also looking for a diamond for my Tacori setting. They have Tacori set all their stones as long as you buy the stone from them. I was thinking about having the setting made and then have them set it to save time but they said they always send the stones to Tacori.

Whoops- Oh ok, that makes sense. I've spoken to Sarah briefly about their diamonds but I never asked her how they would deal with the setting, but that makes sense now, thanks!

Ame- I also found out about how prices are a little high now and also less stock from one of my girlfriends (who's also an amazing tpfer) a couple of weeks ago. Last month I was kind of slowing down on the search because I knew that whatever I wanted might not be in my budget. My gf said she can help me source some stones after the Valentines Day rush, so *crosses fingers* that there will be a diamond for me out there :D I still like to check on GOG every other day, just that it's either the color or the clarity that's not for me, or the cut, or it has EVERYTHING but too pricey :/

I agree, I do want to be 100000% sure about the Tiffany. Because I do like it now, but I know that I need to be happy with it for a longgggg time, probalby around 10 years before I would want to upgrade (this statement might come back to bite me in the butt though). And I'm scared I would want a bigger diamond if I get the Tiffany in the near future lol.

IIRC Tiffany does put a limit on the window in which you can upgrade, as well as the amount required to spend so that's a consideration as well.

I would go with the Tacori if it was me. There's something special about personally selecting your stone. You will have gone on such a hunt, when you find the right one you will know it and can know you got just the right one for you. I love the setting too. Absolutely gorgeous. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Finding a diamond that is "perfect" for you is like a job. It was hell on me, Ill admit, but now I am pretty happy. And with all my setting drama, I am pretty ok with not doing that agian. Ever.

I'd personally go for the Tacori, partially because of the size, but more because it's still a designer ring without the HUGE Tiffany mark up. If you really like the Sola, though, I'm sure you could find a jeweler to make something similar.

echo- I feel like i'm already pooped out from hunting for the diamond! lol...it's been about 3 months already, and I'm very wishy washy. The last stone that I really liked that I posted on here and every1 seemed to love it too, I was re-thinking it still, and right when I decided then someone else got it :/ But hopefully another "perfect" one will pop up for me :) It's just so hard because GOG gets very limited amount of diamonds base on the specs that I like, and they go really fast. But I like GOG (not just because they carry the Tacori setting) since they provide all of the tests and such for it. Other vendors like James Allen have so many that I really get intimidated by hehe.

ame- your setting is so pretty and classic! Thank goodness all of the drama is over with your setting :D And your diamond is so icey white! I want that kind of color for mine <3

Ahertz- I think I'm going to stick with the Tacori. My bf told me last night that it seems like I'm trying too hard to force myself to like the Tiffany over the Tacori...and he does know me best..probalby better than myself heh.
