I sent a somewhat indignant email asking whether it was in stock or not and how I would need to cancel the order if it was going to take longer than 2 weeks, and I just got a response that they made a mistake and the bag is actually in stock and shipping out this week. I don't even know what to think, but I guess I will cross my fingers and wait for now.

I fell for the sale, too. The best part? I emailed CS before I placed the order and they confirmed that the corraline nackie is in-stock and ready to ship, and to email them once I had placed the order so they could be sure to take care of it quickly. I placed an order and emailed them over the weekend, and I opened my email this morning to find a new message telling me that the bag is made to order.

I didn't order during the sale. I was tempted for a bit but it was over before I hadma chance to pull the trigger anyway, which is just as well. 40% was surprisingly generous.

I'm wondering if HH would be happy to change their business model to one like Belen Enchandia's. BE does bespoke bags and they seem to be doing pretty well (so it seems on the BE subforum). If made-to-order is what HH is only capable of doing right now, why not be upfront about it? Maybe less people would be annoyed. It's about managing expectations at the end of the day - customers don't like to be given the runaround.

That's too bad--the phantom pebble seemed like it would be beautiful. Who knows what this 'vintage grey' looks like. I know this is crazy talk, but some pics of the actual bags and/or leather might be helpful.

Lulu - I agree. I got the chocolate pebble wyeth a while ago. I was actually looking forward to the phantom pebble idea and then poof - it turned into VGY.
omg - all the CS stories are nuts. I almost took the plunge on a couple of cuffs but in the end I was soooooo pissed off about the phantom pebble lack of honesty and lack of communication and lack of photos that I just gave up on the whole order. Had 4 things in my cart - oh HH masters - pay attention. I did not purchase because you don't have your leathers sorted with descriptors and accurate pics. With digital cameras all over the place it can't be that hard. Hotties have managed to take and post some fine fine pics.
It just feels like a company that cares so little about honest communication and accurate pics on the website doesn't really care about the customer. Who wants to order (in advance) a leather that no one has laid eyes on? At least BE has good pics of their products.

ITA. I think I did try to explain it here and possibly in an email to the CEO that people want to see IRL photos of the bags and colors before ordering because the website is frequently a bit misleading about how things will look. And it if it's made to order that means 3 weeks + delay before any IRL photos are posted.
Yes - swatches would be perfect - esp if pre-ordering a bag that has to be made. I want to know something else....if everything is being made why can't we order some bags in leathers we want. Eg - I would LOVE to get a laura tote in some diff colours - like phantom or chocolate pebble. Chocolate pebble and denim would be lovely together. Or phantom and denim. Or chocolate and wild rose....
