Cho - Happy Holidays to you and mr CHo and Sam!

Luc - good to see you.

Mish - so far I've played the Room (puzzel game), plants vs Zombies, Fieldrunner, Boggle and letterpress. I'll probably have a ton more shortly when I get the DH to research some for me.

Merry Christmas HHotties! We had a great day yesterday hanging with friends and again today. Chlöe only opened a handful of presents and then we went to play with our friends. We are going to just open them whenever she feels like it over then next few days. Christmas eve, she told me that she was going to tell Santa all this stuff, and I figured I'd better take her for a visit. We got there and she didn't say a word! It was fun for her to see him again though.

MB That cat game app sounds hilarious. I can only imagine. What other games are you playing?

Thank you Cho! I hope you made it through the season (or are making it through I guess it's not truly over yet). How is Sammie doing?

Hey Luc! Thank you so much! You sound busy as always! I'm so glad things are going well for you! What is PT? Is that a physical test? Glad you are getting a little break, even if you do need to do some studying during it.

Congrats on your mini!
Hi Moth ~

Thanks Mishka! It is physical test :)

Happy New Year, Hotties! 2013 is going to be the best year ever! It is even starting off sunny here in Portland. We are off to our friend's house for brunch. Come to think of it, the friends we are going to see we met at a cooking club I joined the first month we moved here. I started a Meetup group in my neighborhood in Portland and it's got 100 people in it already. Yay!

Here are my new year's resolutions:
Spend more time with Chlöe.
Save more.
Pay off my last CC card.
Switch to a safer car.
Exercise and lose weight.
See chiropractor and otherwise fix my back/body.
Incorporate better work life balance.
Brainstorm non computer related streams of income.
Buy a house
Travel outside the US.
Minimize stuff.
Fall in love.

Happy New Year to all the hotties! And what a great, inspiring list you have, Mishka! I, for one, am failling miserably at this:

Incorporate better work life balance.

My biggest commitment will to try to get past feeling so overwhelmed when it comes to fixing the issues with the house and just look at each individually, as a smaller, solvable problem. It hit critical mass after Sandy, with so many things that can no longer be ignored. Moving -- what we were working toward about a year ago -- isn't feasable now for financial and other reasons. The house could never be sold in its current condition anyway. We're stuck here, so we need to make the best of it. That's where all my $$$ will be going this year, unfortunately.

Happy New Year hotties!!! MIshka - I love your list especially the falling in love part. Keep us posted!!!!

NMR - I hear you with the house thing. Several years ago in a fit of super anal virgoness, I went around the house and listed all the things that needed to be done (big or small). Some of the tasks needed to be broken down into smaller tasks. Instead of just writing down "fix door hardware", I wrote "measure hardware, research new lock options, purchase, schedule installation" etc. Then DH and I had to go through and prioritize the tasks. Then I got an index card file, tabs from Jan to Dec and then just sorted it out month by month. It sounds like a lot of work but it moved all the lists out of my head and onto paper and it gave us a framework for parcelling out what had to be done through the year so it didn't seem so overwhelming. When we have a bit of time we go and pull out a card and get to it. Over Christmas we completely emptied and cleaned our laundry room/mudroom/utility cupboard and we also completely emptied, cleaned out and reorganized our master bathroom.

We didn't accomplish all of it and of course, new tasks/repairs have appeared, but I still have the box and DH and I plug along with it.

sally - that sounds like a lot of work. I'm trying to give the apartment a full spring cleaning now but have only made a small dent the the problem. I want to clean out like I might move but decorate like we're staying. Also trying not to stress shop. This month at work I am losing the only other non-managers in my little department. The first one goes on Tuesday - right in time for the HH spring launch I think.

hope all the hotties are well.

That sounds like a really good system, Sally. I think it would help both keeping track of everything and not getting overwhelmed.

I'm getting central heat and A/C installed this week. I'm so sad about the check I'm writing. No new bags for a very, very long time -- assuming I can stick to that rule.

I hope everyone had a happy holiday. I'm glad the holiday rush is over. The kids loved their gifts. I don't know if I mentioned it, but I got my nephew a GPS. It is a totally ridiculous gift for a four year old, but he loves it, carries it around everywhere, and plays with it all day :confused1: I got my niece a night stand and we stained it pink and put it together together. She learned how to stain wood and use a drill. She really wanted a night stand and loves that she got to help "make" it. I got a serger for Christmas. I'm a little afraid of it and haven't played with it yet. I should probably do that soon.

It looks like it's a little dead around here :tumbleweed: I guess everyone is busy with new year stuff. Is it RAOK o'clock yet?

I miss folks too. I hope that the spring designs lure back a few hotties. I think people are busy. . I am liking the look of some of the turnlock items here in new colors. That messenger bag looks nice.

I've being making the DH give opinions on bags. I don't think he's been enjoying my level of obsessive shopping. I am indulging in retail therapy as work is insane (at least I am temporarily unfireable). I wish I knew when HH was putting the spring line up. I'm currently choosing between these 2 MZ wallace bags.

I agree with sally! Be yourself. :) Everyone I know here does online dating. Apparently different sites are the most popular in different parts of the country.

I kind of like the new HH bags so I'm even more indecisive.

Tonight I just found some of my bag photos from here / my blog on the website of one of the bag companies. The DH thinks I should write and pitch for a discount or freebies. Not sure what my email would say though.
