Renovation is almosssssst done. Lots of last minute cosmetic stuff.. oh and waiting for the kitchen to arrive.. :noggin: But moving day is on Thursday!! Ready or not, here we come!

Cho..just want to wish you this before you move.

Here is a virtual traditional new home gift that my family gives to anyone moving into a new home..salt, wine, candles and bread.

Since "It's a Wonderful Life" is shown without fail during this time of year..here's the Bailey's take on three of these:

"Bread, that this house may never know hunger. Salt... that life may always have flavor. Wine... that joy and prosperity may reign forever."

Now..here's the fourth: Candles, so that your life may always be filled with light and that darkness be banished from your home.

Also these blessings, any of of which is usually offered to someone who has moved into a new home, translated into English:

1)
May this home be a place of happiness and health, of contentment, generosity and hope, a home of creativity and kindness. May those who visit and those who live here know only blessing and peace.

This one is my favorite. DS created a woodcut of this (in Hebrew) which is hung inside on my living room wall:

2)
Through this gate shall not pass trouble
In this dwelling shall not come suffering
Through this door shall not pass fear
In this quarter shall not come quarreling
In this place there shall be blessing and peace

3)Upon this house a blessing
may trees rise upon the grass
may water flow plentiful throughout the land
may happiness and joy follow throughout the years
may you have prosperity
retain good health
succeed all attempts
Bless this house always

4)
May this home be a place of happiness and health,
of contentment, generosity and hope,
a home of creativity and kindness.
May those who visit and those who live here
know only blessing and peace.

5)Let this be a place where peace abides.
Where tranquility pervades.
A place where love grows.
Contentment and happiness is a blessing a success

Thanks for the pic Gingey.. now I'm kinda scurred... MRS Potato Head kinda has the same shnazole as my hubby!!

I finally feel the lil one in there, she kicks away mostly after I eat.. I guess that's her way for thanking me for the good food! :D She likes to kick while I'm sleeping (or trying), it gets me through my bouts of insomnia caused by the anxiety I have from all the new changes coming! But she doesn't kick hard enough for anyone else to feel yet. Or maybe she does and there's too much blubber on my belly... Wahhhhhhh.....

A glass of orange juice used to make each of mine do the can-can. I remember the first time I felt my oldest DD kick I was on an airplane with DH. I was excited and scared at the same time because that's when I realized that this was for realz..duh!

Youngest DD literally kicked my gall bladder so often and so hard during the second trimester, that it swelled..seriously. She's a delicate flower now, but she was the biggest, baddest one of my fetuses. I should charge each of my kids back rent..room AND board :roflmfao:

ETA: Don't mean to be rude but it's time to begin setting up for the ravaging hoards..(why do I always think of this as "ravaging ho's?" :p)

A lot to catch up in this thread!!

Cho - I love the belly picture!!! So sweet!!! :D

Mishka - Chloe is the most adorable doll!! So is your mom and that tree, the house, the view! Wow! Just perfect!!! I would spend a lot of time there too if I were you!!

Carlie - I'm glad you had that idea and I hope it works out!! Except for my little issue today I highly recommend everything Apple.

Nicole - I made a big picture frame for my mom with pictures of her kids, grandkids and parents. There are also personalized gift cards you could make with pictures of the kids.

Mango lassi!!! I had that at lunch! Yum!!

And potatoes, I'm craving potatoes now!!! :D

I've been on the phone trying to figure out how to play Real Player videos from my online class on my MacBook all day. I called the school, cable company, apple and finally Real Player helped me. It's not perfect but I finally got a solution. I'm so glad I'm not studying about computers. Not my cup of tea!!

I don't know whose idea was that to take a short term class, but I'm crazy busy with it.

My mom will be getting here at the end of next week and I just can't wait! My class will be ending at the same time, so that will be good.

:faint: You ladies move FAST these days!

Thanks for the sweet words, but I know you all are as equally amazing. Can't fool me. ;) :smooch:

Jwhit, that's what reassured me that it had a good chance of working for him...there's actually a babieswithipads blog haha! Lots of youtube videos, blogs, discussions...our speech therapist is poo-pooing the idea, but whatevs. :blah: She was in a crabby mood anyway the last time we talked. I'm remaining optimistic!:p

Mishka, OMGOSH I want a baby Chloe!!! So stinkin cute...her expression in the pic with her grandma is priceless!

And Cho, what an awesome picture. :D You have such a cute baby belly!!! I'm so behind, have you guys picked out a name yet?

Jsenning, good luck with the job!!

Cho!!! FAB photo, you hot mama!!

Gingey, lovely blessings! And Angie is limiting her website to her photography clients (she's not even listing in search engines) because she's mainly photographing kids and families... Gosh now I want potato pancakes. That's what the grating plate on food processors was invented for! You are a wonderful mom to not only put up with the chaos, put also making such delish food!!

Carlie, let us know how it goes!!:hugs:

Wow, so much to keep up with.

Good luck on your proposal Jsenning!

OMG, Chloe is the cutest little thing. I can't believe how big she is already. I love the look on her face in that pic with her grandma.

What a cute bump Cho!

I'm ignoring all the potato talk. It is enough to make me run to Whole Foods and buy their yummy delicious amazing frozen mashed potatoes. And I've had enough starch over the last few weeks.

I hope we hear from Lauri soon.

Carly, your iPad idea sounds like the best use of it that I have ever heard. The grandma idea sounded good too. Maybe I'm not so anti-iPad now.

I've been mopey all weekend. Sleeping and moping around and not talking to anyone. Part of that had to do with being zonked out on a potent mix of vicodin and flexiril. Part of it had to do with being utterly depressed about my car and the possibility of having injured my shoulder. I went to see the doc on Friday and he gave me another PT prescription and all the drugs, but I couldn't get in to see my surgeon until this afternoon. He says my shoulder looks great. I have some stiffness and capsulitis from not moving it, but that's expected after wearing a sling for 6 weeks. He thin ks it was all healed up and since I'm saying it is moving better after the accident he thinks it is possible it jolted stuff back into place. So no major medical drama! Then on the way home from that appointment I got a call from the adjuster about repairing my car because it isn't totaled!!! :yahoo: I thought there was frame damage because nothing lined up, but I guess maybe the roof is just crooked, not the car. I was worried because it rained "a lot" over the weekend and a lot of the windows exploded, but the adjuster said it is parked under cover so it didn't get rain in it. So now I just need to figure out the repair shop and get it handled. My rental is a pukey benz, but it could be worse. If my big complaint is getting stuck driving a mercedes for a month, I think I'm okay. I might switch out for an SUV so that I can haul Xmas presents more easily. I feel like my aches and pains are subsiding, but I might go to the chiro this week for good measure. Sorry to babble, I'm so relieved that my car isn't totaled.

I just about finished one of the gloves for my niece. I was almost done the other night and decided I hated it and ripped it all out and started over. The one I was doing was too formal and I also think too big for her. The one I'm doing now is more informal, it is just a tube with a hole for her thumb. I think it is more her style. I need to decided if I start the other one on the same color so the stripes match up or do I start on a different color so they are mismatched.

Cho - I love the photo of you with the puppy. god luck with the move.

gingey - your writing is making me want to cook which is an accomplishment. all the food sounds delish.

MT - glad that you are ok and that the car is fixable. :)
