mishka - I can't resist Hot Cookie. It's right across from my bus stop. The longer I wait the better it looks. I inherited none of my mom's crazy cleaning decorating drive though we did put up a crappy tiny tree this year.

jenni - the book hasn't been printed yet! they wrote back and said that it's coming out mid January.

carly - good luck with the ipad! it sounds like a grea idea.

Carlie- I've heard such great things about ipads as communication devices. My mil runs a non profit for adults with developmental disabilities and they just got a grant for a couple of ipads. I hope it works fell for him.

Hmmm...did anyone else have contact with 2-many other than here and through email? Does she twitter or facebook?

MT got a card from her but that was likely from some time ago as MT had been off work and the card was sitting in her office.

sally, i got a card from her some time ago and i sent her a postcard (snailmail) last week. but, other than that, nada. i just checked her profile page and there was activity today. so, hopefully she is checking in. i'm super worried about her.

I hope Jace excels like no other with his Ipad Carlie, the thought of it is so exciting! My coworker has a severely autistic son and recently they told her that she should invest in an Ipad.

GB, you're making me laugh about all the latkes.. I've been eating latkes and potato kugel for over a week straight....

Which leads me into you Jwhit.. NO gallons of ice cream, but I am eating POUNDS AND POUNDS of potatoes.. any kind - fried, baked, mashed, full of preservatives, full of love, sweet, white, yams..chips, dipped you name it. I love me potatoes... I can't get enough potato!! But they do have to be cooked (no raw potato or wood or dirt for me, I want FOOD!)

Sending Lauri some virtual hugs and well wishes. I do hope she is okay.. :sad:

omg. i love hash browns. especially when they're buttery. i've never had hash brown casserole but, it sounds good!

minnesotans love their hashbrowns. when we visit, we have them at least twice a day. yum yum. then, i go home craving rice. :)

Lu - you are so right about the food craving / kids hating later. I ate almost a bag of baby carrots a day when I was pregnant with Levi. He has hated carrots his entire life. If I even attempt to give him a carrot he gags and runs to the bathroom. I love my little puker but who gags at the site of a carrot???

And yes, MNians LOVE their potatos. Lefse anyone? My grandma made it every Christmas and now I make my kids eat it. Lots of butter and brown sugar is totally allowed!
