HI NIKKI! So glad to "see" you again. I hope all of the dust has settled, the smoke has cleared or the "insert other bad cliche" here has helped you make it through.

Gingey.... MUST.HAVE.LATKES. And I know they're vegetarian. And you've got mad grating skillz. Deeeeeelish.

Clutched... like Dream, I usually pay $8-$10 hour for two boys, four and seven. (We live in a suburb of the Baltimore market, which is the 26th largest market in the country.) It KILLS me when they basically just throw the kids in bed and sleep on the couch, but they are my chitlins and supposedly not replaceable. And we don't go out much at all. (And here is why.... my company party was Saturday night and my feet still haven't recovered from all of the dancing. Wow, my Solid Gold days are truly a thing of the past!)

MT I hope you are feeling better! I hope your car has a fighting chance, too. I'd be sad if I totalled mine, and it's only a little ford focus. hehe.

Carlie, that's exciting news! :) I know it will be totally worth it.

Grats on your new computer, Clutched!

I'm working on this job app that I really really want and feel pretty qualified for, finally. Fingers crossed my resume gets noticed!!

Clutched - We are just visiting TN. My parents live here. It's beautiful. Also my friend pays her part-time nanny $10 per hour. She is going to school for early childhood ed.

Nikki - I never did the meetups either *(YET!)* but I definitely feel like the HHHAWTIES are my family. You will always be *one of us*.

Carlie - I am so glad you are getting Jace the IPAD! I hope that helps and imagine it would. I will echo Gingey's sentiments. You are a WONDERFUL mother and your boys are lucky to have you.

Gingey - Your kids sounds awesome, and you are amazing to take such good care of them. It sounds like fun over there at your house. Lively and all LOL.

Jsenning! FIngers Crossed and HHHAWTIE power! I hope you get it!!!

carlie, i'm so excited for you and jace! i hope he enjoys it and is a way for him to communicate with you all. good call on the wheelchair mount, for sure.

i want an ipad so badly. i think i'll get one for my birthday next year from dh. lately, it seems like all my presents have been tax deductible for our biz. lol. to repeat jenni... such is married life.

I really want an ipad too, but can't spend $600 something on it. For now I will just use an iphone.

Hi Jwhit! Good to see you too! Yes, the dust is settling. More like the tornado has cleared.
Thanks Mishka!!

I didn't resize these pics before uploading, so I hope they turn out ok and not huge!

Here is my Mom's Christmas tree. I don't know if you can really see how big it is. I tried to keep the chair in there for reference. The tree is 12' tall and my mom put it up by herself pretty much. I helped a little bit when Chlöe would let me. My dad just had bilateral knee replacement so he can't help either. My mom really is something. Anyway that is the tree I was referring to the other day!

Here is Chlöe meeting Santa for the first time. He was at a Christmas show we visited. She loved the show and the dancers and singers and laughed and waved her arms the whole time, but wasn't sure about Santa. We'll be trying again in a week or so at home.

And here is Chlöe yesterday at the Aquarium and the following pic is after we got home.

And finally, Chlöe with Grandma! They are always so cute together.

Mishka - what a cutie! my mom can be a bit Christmas crazy too. in the past she's bought trees that wouldn't fit through the door of their little house.

gb - love the new avatar. I so love latkes. I know they're probably not the best versions but I was really sad when we moved that the whole foods here didn't have them in their prepared food section.

LOL MB - Yeah, My mom said last year she got the tree up in record time. It only took her 3 days! And then another 2 days to put up the rest of the decor. She loves it. She's too cute. I like it too. Everything is so fancy. The stars are crystal that she got in Chicago. Everything has a story. I wish I'd gotten her knack for decorating and organization, but nope, I got my dad's gene for that I guess LOL.

Plus 1 for loving latkes..... no idea how to make them though....

mishka...:love::love: your pictures are so heartwarming. thanks for sharing. love the tree (go mom!) and of course, chloe is SO adorable. i hope she'll take to another santa. :) her picture with grandma is just perfect.

nikki, hugs. glad to hear the tornado has cleared and things are settling. you're a strong woman and you will overcome!

i have been so unproductive today. worse, i feel like taking a nap. i don't do well in winter. sigh.

MB - I just took a look at your blog LOL. My friend Chris and I used to drive all the way from our warehouse (where we lived) in East Oakland, all the way to San Francisco just for Hot Cookie. YUM!

Mishka, she is so beautiful!!! Wow, Chloe has grown! Just perfect. Love watching her grow. Your Mom's tree is amazing! So elegant. I love the view too. I wish I lived with a view of the mountains.

MISH! Love the pics of Chloe. Esp with Santa. Such a classic!

jsenning... good luck on the job app. I'm crossing my freakishly long toes for you.

Oh, and Cho... as long as you don't eat gallons of ice cream and cheesesteaks 24/7 you'll be fine.

Carlie... I echo Gingey's sentiment about what a rockin' mama you are. I was wondering if there is some type of an iPad forum you can visit to discuss with others who may be using the device in a similar fashion? I'm always stunned to find discussion groups and forums for topics that I would never dream of seeing.

Brrrr...it's cold in B-More today, and we are in especially foul moods since the STEELers beat us last night.:pout:

Thank you Sacc! It's definitely nice to be home for a bit. The house here is so big and nice and homey. THere is a glorious sunset every day over the lake. I plan on spending a lot of time here now that we have Chlöe. When her dad is away working, it's almost easier to just come to Tennessee than to stay home. I hope she'll do better with Santa next time. It's not that big of a deal to me, but I hate for her to cry. She's starting to get a little bit of stranger anxiety in general...

Nikki - Thank you! Yeah, I can't believe my mom did it herself. She thinks this year may be the last... I love the view here. It's Nickajack Lake outside of Chattanooga, TN. They bought the lot here on this hillside before anyone had built, so got a great deal and built a custom home. Now there are about four other houses, but they are quite spread out. I wish I had a view like that at home too. I have thought about buying, but I'm still holding out in case I decide to leave Reno.

Jwhit! Thanks! Yep, the classic Santa photo. Santa came out and said HO HO HO, Follow Me! I have CANDY! haha and all the kids ran after him. Then when he was done and just wandering around we tried the photo.....
Sorry the STEELers beat you guys! Bummers! I hope it warms up for you. It's cold here too, but I'm mostly inside so it's not be bothering me too much.

That was a good move your parents made Mishka. From what I can see it is a beautiful home in the prime location. I would love that view and not have neighbors right on top of me. I love the windows from top to bottom too. One day I dream of owning a house like that.
