I find this bag plenty roomy without being crowded in the least. Here's what I'm carrying in mine (using all three compartments):

Cell phone
Blackberry
2 sets keys
Wallet (large french purse style)
Sunglasses case (also on the large-ish side)
Small tube hand lotion
Small bottle of Aleve
Folding hairbrush
Lipstick, lipgloss, lip liner
Carmex

And there's plenty of room still; the bag is not stuffed at all.

Agreed, the bag is very roomy. The middle compartment is the biggest, and holds a ton! But the thing I like about this bag is that even if you don't put a lot of stuff in there, the bag still holds its shape and doesn't look lumpy or misshapen.

Mine arrived today! I love it, Love it, LOVE IT..... It has the softest leather I have ever felt..... It even SMELLS fabulous! I believe I have LOST my mind, I must keep touching it. *sigh* :blink:

Mercer satchel in Chalk arrived today and I LOVE IT! The color is more of a greyish ivory than white, and it goes with everything!!!! I'll do pics this weekend. The leather is stunning. Another HH keeper!

Oh, and the lining is a beautiful green and the stitching on the bag is slightly gold. This bag is going to see lots of use. :love: :love:

Pseub - how does the leather on the chalk compare to the luggage? Is it softer or the same?

The leather on the Chalk is soft, but not velvety like the luggage. It's crinkly and smoother, which means it will be easier to clean and probably less likely to show scratches/marks.

Okay, you all sold me and I broke down today and ordered the Hayden Harnette Mercer satchel in black! I love the luggage but really need a good black satchel. I ordered from ShoppingAllure.Com with the 30% off code previously posted (mariecla) and total out the door including shipping was only $320 -great deal!!!! Thanks for the heads up everyone.

Did the code work right away? I tried it yesterday I think, to see if it work on a luggage satchel. When I put in the code, it didn't calculate the % off. Then I looked at the bag again, and it said pre-sale. Codes aren't good on presale, I guess.

Mine should be coming tomorrow!! I ordered it from HH a week or so ago. :D

Bjara - my code did work right away - but as you said, the black wasn't a pre-sale so that may have been the difference. I can't wait 'til mine gets here! Good luck with yours -I may eventually have to have all three colors:nuts: !!!
