I'm carrying mine today, and I think this will be one of my most often used bags. I really like the design and the softness of the leather, and it stays comfortably on my shoulder.

To the ladies that got the black hh (cate22, pseub, munchkyn)-- is the leather on your bag spongy, almost like suede? or is there a slight sheen/gloss to it? I thought the leather would be the same for both the luggage and the black since they are both "washed leather," but my roommate ordered the hh mercer clutch in black (haha, my influence!) and the leather is different from my mercer satchel. Her black leather has a slight gloss/sheen to it, and it looks a little wrinkly. I wasn't sure if it's because she just ordered a different bag or if there was a difference in the colors. Thanks!

The picture of the black bag on the HH website looks like the leather has a bit of shine. I'm liking that black too, may have to get that one next! :shame:

The black does have a gloss/sheen to it. It was a bit wrinkly but after I wore it around the house awhile it smoothed out beautifully. The owner of blondette informed me that the leather on the tan is softer than the black so I think the tan is closer to being soft like cloth more than the black. The black is soft too but more buttery? Hard to describe.

So does your friend like her clutch?

I think she wanted the clutch to be like the leather of my satchel so she may not end up keeping it. I think the shape is also not what she expected-- it's not very structured like it is in the pictures. Hmm, I wonder how the black leather looks in the satchel! Can anyone with the black satchel post pics?

Just any FYI...Blondette.com has changed their return policy on their website. It's now exchange only. I emailed them asking if they had changed it, and this is their reply:

The black does seem to have a slight sheen. Never tried to post a picture before but hope this works!

Thanks for the pics cate22! The leather looks the same as my friend's mercer clutch. That's interesting about the different leathers on the different colors. Also, mine didn't come with a tassel either.
