Have You Ever Returned A Used Bag?

My sister purchased a Juicy bag from Nordstroms 2 years ago. She carried it for awhile and it was still in pretty good condition. She stopped using it and then with luck had it, she still had the receipt. She decided that she didn't really like the bag anymore so we went to Nordstrom and they returned the bag (that she used) for the price (store credit) she paid 2 years ago. I was amazed that you could use something and return it years later.

Luckily no. In Australia and Italy it is very difficult to return anything. Even with defects or breakages, the sales people seem to eye you up as if you were responsible. Would hate to have to try and take back a bag I'd been using!!

Only once for another reason besides a defect, and it was due to a small family emergency where I had to loan someone more cash than I had readily available. Sometimes life happens, but it didn't look used, no one lost a commission, and I hadn't even taken the tags off.

Like everyone else, only if it was defective! Otherwise it's rude to future customers who might buy the bag. I know if I paid a lot for a bag, I would want it in brand new, pristine condition.

Agreed, I'd return a bag only if there was a defect, and it appeared within a reasonable time from purchasing the bag (e.g. a month, maybe two, probably three tops). I did that once with a bag that had the stitching on the interior designer's label coming undone after a couple weeks' use. As far as I could tell, the store (an online retailer) never put it back online after that either.

I feel bad for whoever bough that bag after her.. a bag that was used for 2 years?!

Wow.

I wonder what rationale one makes for returning a used bag or any item for that matter.

Did the store recognize that it was used and if so who takes the loss on that one? Certainly not the SA.

I would have a hard time justifying to myself selling a used item without letting the customer know that it was used even lightly.

From a buyer's perspective, I personally do not mind a bag that has been used a few times by a previsous buyer. But two years? That's way too much. And I do mind if it's clothes or shoes.

Not personally, and I never would. Sorry, but that's just foul! :rtr:

However, I had one sent to me from Bloomies that CLEARLY had been used a lot and returned. There were cracker crumbs in the inside zippered pocket, lipstick marks on the lining, pen marks. Whoever the byotch was, she clearly used it for a long time and then with no sense of decency, returned it to Bloomies in that condition.

I don't know what was worse though, the bottomfeeder that returned it or Bloomies for reselling it in that condition.
