Have you ever buy a bag just because its so popular and everyone has it!?

I don't follow the trend and what's popular out there.

I will only buy the bags because I like them and I will use them.

I think that's what I did with Longchamp Le Pliage. It's a great bag & affordable though, that's probably why it's so popular.

Popular bags get my attention, but I don't usually buy them. Although I do look into the the designers of these popular bags and sometimes buy other bags by them.

I don't buy based on what's popular. Mostly because what's popular doesn't fit in my lifestyle or is out of budget. Lol

Yes. I got caught up in the Louis Vuitton Speedy fan club, bought one and sold it. It just looked too pretentious carrying it and my office. And I was surrounded by other people carrying LV's (not a Speedy) that were fake and frankly I didn't want to be lumped in with that. Not missing it.

To be honest I can be a bit of a snob when it comes to bags... if it's popular, I don't want it -- I'd rather have something understated that would fly under the radar for most people.

Oceansportrait, just out of curiosity, what are your favorite handbags?

Every once and a while I find myself getting sucked in when I see a bag that everyone else has and I love it! I have to remind myself not to be TOO much of a snob and get what I like, even if a lot of other people have it. Balenciaga is an example. However, I love the feeling that comes when people ask me where I got a bag that is from some unknown designer ;P

To be honest, I don't do it on purpose but there are many bags/brands I probably would never have known about if they didn't become "popular". Who knows if I would have ever known what LV, Coach, etc etc were unless I found out about them via other people carrying them first

I have before, but then I found Rebecca Minkoff and in Poe Dunk USA where I am, most people have never even heard of her. I love the style, quality, and, of course, the smell of all her bags!

ITA. I started obsessing about the Antigona because my SA introduced me to it, so then I went back onto TPF after a break and saw other people's gorgeous Antigona purchases in every colour of the rainbow. Otherwise I would have remained happily ignorant

I got a couple Rebecca Minkoff bags because everyone was always on about them but they really weren't for me, and I sold them. That's it for popular bags for me.
