I'd have to say no. There are alot of bags that I love (Celine Luggage Tote) (Chanel 2.55 Reissue) but honestly they don't fit my lifestyle. The most "popular" bag I have would be my LV Neverfull in DE and I just purchased it last Christmas. Perfect for travel and tossing IPad and all of my DS toys in when I'm on the run lol. I need bags that are useful EVERYDAY verse popular cause frankly I think they cost too much. A Chanel classic flap is too much $$$$ for me and I don't go out enough nor work in a field where carrying it fits my personality. As beautiful as they are i can NOT fork over $4500 on a bag and not use it til it falls apart. Same with LV Speedy's...not a fan I much rather have the Alma ( see my profile pic lol ) but then they had to release the new Speedy B Empirente 25 and I love it. I think sometimes people just get caught up in the hype....

I wouldn't know how to judge which bag is truly "popular" in Houston, TX vs Media hype... so no, I don't just buy a bag because everyone "has" it.
That being said, sometimes bags are "media hyped" because they are not only fashionable, but functional and timeless... and fit my style.
