Have you ever buy a bag just because its so popular and everyone has it!?

I've wanted one because it was so popular and my bf said it was pretty.

For example the Celine luggage tote. I think I liked it because it was popular. I waited a few months and realized that I didn't want it after all.

I usually stew on a bag for a few weeks before purchasing to make sure I want it or not.

Yea, when I first got into designer bags. But after I grew up a bit and found my own bag identity I quickly got over the whole monogram and "it" bag thing. Now I buy only what I love, regardless of who designed it.

I did ywo years ago...also because i liked it a lot, it was my style 100%:

Mulberry oak Alexa

but when i got it, when I saw how dull the colour looked compared to Bays in darwin lather in oak and the leather is so thin, papery and low low quality, i returned it at once

I've checked out bags because they were so popular. However, in the end, I ended up buying because they fit my lifestyle and my needs/wants. If a bag is popular but I can't use it, I see absolutely no point in purchasing it just to have.

NO WAY!

I've looked to popular brands but that's it. I am way too self conscious to be carrying an obviously monogrammed bag. I have one but rarely ever use it ....poor guy....

I carried a louis vuitton sac d'epaule which has no logo cept for a subtle LV. No way u can tell what brand it is until u look closely.

Chick behind me in line yelled "FAKE"

I almost **** my pants..

Too many people know about it - everyone assumes it's fake.

I bought LV bc I wanted a travel friendly bag that I don't have to baby.

I admit popularity does pique my interest, but it does not have much weight in my final decision to purchase. For example, the Celine luggage tote is considered the "it" bag so I took a look, but at the end I realized it wasn't for me. I will buy what I love and what speaks to me. There are so many bags to choose from, it would be a shame if we all bought the same purse. Variety is the spice of life!

Not really, but I do admit I get swayed. For instance, Jason Wu at Target was so popular when initially released so I did buy into the hype and buy 2 of his satchels that I thought were okay (but I didn't LOVE them). However, they grew on me and now I love them and receive lots of compliments! So it was worth it.

Most other bags though...no. I never bought into the Longchamp bag phase (cute, but I don't like the material), or the Marc by Marc Jacob bags either (also very cute, but not into hobo bags as much anymore). You end up happier when you buy what YOU like, not what everybody else likes.

Yes and 10 years later regretfully so! That darn Jessica Simpson and her pet Louie! The white flashy bag! I had to have it in my life! Well I got it and now never use it. Oh well the memories of me and that purse go way back! I'll keep her!!
