Has anyone seen the MK bags that look like speedys?

So funny..I saw a woman wearing this bag in the mall from a distance and I thought it was a speedy..then I got closer and was shocked! It was a mk speedy? Ew..not cute:(

Bought it & love it :)
Btw the coloring is diff from azur. The MK logo is a bunch of little beige/light brown dots.
For those who dont want to purchase a canvas speedy b/c they're so common, this bag is a great alternative.

Meh, the LV Speedy will always be superior to any bags with similar shapes. When I was MUCH younger, I purchases a TNA bag from Aritizia with a similar shape to the speedy before I even knew what LV was (I was young and naieve). It happens.

I love it on you!!!

I just saw this today and kept going back to look at it more. I really like it and while it is similar to the LV Speedy in shape,it's not the same.

I liked that it was much more structured than the Speedy I have that I had to get a shaper for. The doctor bag look is not only a LV bag design, MANY designers have the same style.

I really like it and I'm probably going to get it tomorrow. I love the look, style and shape and for those reasons I think the bag rocks. ;)

btw..if I get it this bag will be my first non LV in a long time. I still love LV so much...but change is once in a while is good too :)

This is the Dooney & Bourke 'speedy'. It actually looks better in person.

Wow the handles are a total copy down to the red edging!

Totally understand that designers often copy each other or are otherwise inspired by other designs. But I always found MK to be tacky to make many of his bags look so similar to several LV bags from mono to damier to mirrior (the gold) with similar colored canvases and handles etc. It's different from just a doctor shape bag.

agreed.. i feel like the grand-daddys of designers inspired such amazing designs that second tier designers can't think of anything original anymore!
that being said-- is this the Michael by MK line or real MK? because the michael by MK tends to be less expensive and probably less original.. and available at Marshalls..

MK also just came out with a new wallet that is very very similar to the LV josephine wallet. It has the same envelope shape, is also a tri-fold and has a removable coin pouch which is ironically the exact same design as the LV coin pouch. The only difference is the placement of the credit card slots and that MK put the removable coin pouch on the back rather than on the inside like LV (he has to change a couple things for legal reasons i'm sure). The sad part is....if I didn't own the Josephine and know how much of a rip off the MK wallet was, I would have loved it. The colors are great and it's a cute wallet, but it seems like all the new MK designs are just re-creations of popular higher end bags/ wallets. I used to view MK as a contemporary all american designer, with very reasonable price points. Unfortunately, he and his brand no longer use any design creativity. They look no further than the latest LV or Hermes for their next line. The only difference between MK and the people selling fakes in Chinatown is that he has a better legal team. :nogood:

Absolutely didn't remind me of Speedy's when I saw them up close today. I think people tend to compare all bags to anything LV. When there's a tote, completely regular with 2 handles and bucket shaped, it's the "Neverfull", when it's a bowling bag, it's the "Speedy". Kind of annoying. Burberry also has "Speedy's", but really, they're just the most simple, regular shape. So common. Doesn't mean that every brand tips off LV. Don't get me wrong, I love LV and I can see that they're the same, but who says they copied it? Just because it has the brand initials on the bag, does that mean it's automatically a LV-copy cat?

He even makes one that looks so similar to the Totally and the Neverfull.... I didn't like it!!! He makes some cool different bags that I would totally buy, but definitely not the ones that look like a copy of a LV... I don't think that's cool at all...
