Hi All

I am going to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka next week and would love to score a kelly bag.
After reading the comments here, is it right to say that chances of scoring a bag in Osaka is higher than Tokyo ? Also, does buying another items first will increase the chance of scoring a bag ?
Thanks for your help :)

Just like to share that I am in Tokyo currently and got a 30B from the Ginza store last week. It was quite strange ... I saw a couple ask a SA before me for a B and I heard her say they have nothing. So I didn't have high hopes but decided to approach another SA. I didn't even ask for a B/K but enquired for other items from the bags department. They did not have what I wanted and just as I was thinking of leaving the store, the SA asked me if I am looking for a B or K of which I said "yes, if you have... " He told me to wait a moment and brought out a box which was not too big and I thought, good it maybe a 30 B and when I saw 2 handles peeping out from the dust bag, I knew it was a B! I was a little excited but unfortunately it is the same color as my K. I tried to ask if they have it in other colors but he said that's the only B/K they have in the store right now. So I got it anyway as I wanted a size 30. In case any one of you are going to osaka, I was in Osaka earlier part of last week and 2 of the stores offered me the croc kelly cut - one was a black with GHW and the other in purple with GhW. They are really beautiful but I was not prepared to pay so much for a clutch so I didn't get them. Hope this piece of information helps 😊
Hi, can I ask how much u spent before they offered you the B? I've been trying to get one and have been spending in different outlets but I'm still unable to score a K/B

Hi,
Europe offers the best prices in the world but it's also the most difficult getting a K/B, am I right? I travel to Japan 4 to 5 times a year. Should I try to get a K/B in Japan paying the premium? Considering I can go to Europe only once a year...

I usually go to Osaka, which store has the higher chance having a K/B?

Thanks in advance!

Japan h nowadays are equally tough too
Yes premium prices premium attitudes too
No stores are easy if you just want bk without other purchases at the same time
You need a lot of time and luck

Yup, gone are the days of 2008-2009 where Birkins were on display at Japanese H stores. Nowadays, even Japanese locals are having a hard time getting one without other purchases

Their faces are like having constipation and not another one look
Haha
Luckily for me having long term relationships with some managers
Over the years
Still not that bad

This is actually my late report from december 2016 trip
1. 25 bk black swift from Tokyo , from SA with relationship
2. 30 bk Gris mouette Togo from Yokohama as a walk-In with no other purchase
3 . 28 Kelly capuchins Togo from Tokyo as a walk-in with no other purchase... I used to buy something from the shop but has no relationship with any SA.

So everything is possible in Japan, just try your luck.

That sounds great! What a good luck You and your family had. I wasn't successful last time I tried, I went to every possible H store but wasn't lucky at all. I'll try again next time when I visits. [emoji4]

Hi! I'll be traveling to Japan in a few weeks. My first time there. Does the H price include the consumption tax or is that added at checkout/not included for foreign passport. Looking online at jewelry (trying to figure out pricing compared to US) and may try my hand at bags. TIA!

I was told by SA the price on the H tag does not include VAT. If you buy from a standalone H boutique and have a foreign passport, VAT will not be added to your price. If you buy from a department store's H boutique, 8% VAT will be added when you pay, but you can get 6.9% of it refunded from the tax refund office in the same department store. The refund will be in cash yen. So basically you pay 1.1% more buying at a department store.

This is exactly what I need to know. Thank you!
