Hi fellow TPF-ers!
Greetings from Tokyo! Got lucky twice in Ginza and decided to head back to try my luck again last week. Asked for a Birkin, Kelly and Constance from the SA that gave me a birkin two months ago, and she said today they sold quite a few including a C24. She asked to come back another day but I was heading home the next day so we catch up a little and left.
The next day went over to Isetan Shinjuku and figured out that there's no harm trying. Saw there were a couple of eye candies - a Beton L26, Ostrich L26 in red and a black swift L26 on the shelf too! Wanted to ask for assistance to have a look at the L26 birdie and an SA came over. Wasn't planning to get anything so I asked for a Birkin, Kelly and Constance, thinking I would be rejected right away (based on my Tokyo experience, buying something helps with getting a bag even if it is just a butter dish). She answered she will checked and come back to me shortly.
Within minutes she came back and said they didn't have a Kelly or Constance but they do have three Birkins. I was delighted but was eager to hear the sizes, when asked she mentioned B35 in Noir Croc, Rose Tyrien Croc as well as a dark brown croc. Didn't want to seem impolite but was also curious to see how a B35 Noir Croc look like on me I asked to view. We were escorted to a room and sat down patiently while she revealed, in my opinion, the most beautiful bag ever. However the B35 looked rather old on me as it looked big. The SA agreed and wrapped up and exited through the staff exit in the room. BUT she came back with a B30 and asked if I was keen in viewing it. She then revealed it was a Rose Jaipur, one of the most sought after normal leather colours in Tokyo after Black and Etoupe and other Rose series.
It was an Epsom beauty in PHW and it looked orangey in the dim lit VIP room but shine in fluorescent pink under natural lighting. It was the perfect wrap up for Tokyo and perfect way to start a year too!
My last two lucky attempts in Ginza store was accompanied by a purchase below USD400 such as butter plates, ashtrays etc. I did not have to go to the leather goods floor to asked for a bag (like some TPF-ers had to in this thread) but rather upon asking the SA for the bags and if available, being escorted to the holding room on the same floor dedicated to china and homewares.
For curious TPF-ers, I was wearing my mini Chanel patent camera, chanel ballerina flats, faded blue jeans, a denim shirt and a thick bomber with messy hair. Don't think it matters like it does somewhat in Paris.
Good luck ladies!
