Hello my darling bag lovers.

I went into the Sydney City store last week and was about to purchase the beige colour bag, however I was a bit iffy with the tassel. On both the black and beige bags the tassel was leather one side and suede the other. All the fakes i have seen have this look and all the authentic bags have leather on both sides of the strands from the tassel. Can anyone shed some light on this issue and if this is the new normal?

Hi there, I just checked my bag from Matches and it has leather on both sides on the tassel. No sueded side. This was on the black.

I have been to the Sydney city store and the Soho bags are on display and they are not the ones they actually give you. Maybe that explains it? Or maybe their stock would be more current than Matches?

I would not hesitate to buy directly from them. You will love this bag.

Btw, I have both the black and the beige and love this bag! I wanted a day to night bag with no chain and they are totally different looks to my Mulberry Lily and Darley bag. Very versatile bag and I get complimentary comments every time.

However there were no protective cover on the strap & on the tassle
Is this normal for a brand new bag?
Could this be a returned bag?
N the matches fashion label tag was also not attached to the bag (you know like when we purchase from mytheresa, once the tag was removed we cannot return the bag). But for my purchase from matchesfashion the label tag was not attached to the bag. Can someone please shed some light

I got mine from a local boutique and it had a cover over the strap and plastic around metal part of tassel. Are there any signs of use ir defects on the bag? If it bothers you, return or exchange.

I got mine from Gucci directly as well and all the wrappings were gone. I asked the SA about this & she said they normally remove all the wrappings at the back as it was a lot of mess to leave at the front for me to inspect the bag. I thought it was odd at the time too. Anyway, most importantly the bag should look perfect to you! If you’re unsure, check with the store. Otherwise enjoy the bag, and congrats! ))

Theres only plastic cover (with small holes on the plastic cover) around the metal part of the tassle (attached pic)
Theres no sign of use i guess.. The shape n condition is really perfect
The only thing is that there is no protective cover on the strap and tassle..

To be honest I haven’t used the beige yet. Just the black a lot. I will spray/conditioner my beige bag with a protector before I use it and fingers crossed no transfer.

Try and nab the bag from Matches with 10% if you can
