I've taken pictures of it all and have sent them across to Matches. Sounds like the same thing Cabsms had to do with Matches when her rose beige from them had a piping join that was not satisfactory. They said they have to follow a process that can take up to 2 days and then they'll come back to me with a solution. When I hinted I will just return it for a refund rather than wait, they then said they'd escalate and do their best to get back to me by the end of today. The worst scenario is I just return it for a refund. Not the best of experiences so far I have to say... the black stain on the dustbag makes me wonder how these bags get stored in their warehouse...BUT... deep breath.... I will keep you all posted
Okay, thanks for sharing. Now I'm double considering if I should get the Red one too from Matches...:hrmm:

My green disco has arrived and I can’t make my mind up... I’ve got the rose beige which I adore, green is one of my favourite colours but I’m so suprised how different the bags are, obviously the green doesn’t have the tassel which I think is a shame, but I think without the piping and the leather being so much firmer it seems such a different bag.
I don’t wear black or red so wouldn’t use the other colours in the original design, I think I’m going to have to give it some thought and try it on with a few things over the next couple of days.

Strange how they've both been rose beige.... could just be a coincidence of course. Its a worry that the inking is not right but i guess it's down to the individual making them at the time. Makes me wonder though how it will hold up longer term.. The one I have has a serious dip along the back edge straight out of the box. I've Givenchy, Balenciaga and other brands of bag and none have ever presented with such issues out of the box...Of course, could just be bad luck?!....[/QUOTE]

I love green as a colour but do get what you're saying re leather type and lack of tassel. Post photos so that we can see if you get the chance.

Just to confirm highlight that Matches have lots of the Rose Beige available as of today. During my talks with them the agent said they have many available, particularly in this colour, that just aren't reflected on their website at this moment in time (the sceptic in me did think whether it is a tactic to put low numbers available so as to shift a lighter/summer/spring colour now that autumn/winter is approaching here in the UK with it being a UK based store...... Either way, there are lots in their stock, so don't panic buy on colour availability of the rose beige alone would be my advise given what they've just told me.

I’ve also been looking at Marmont ‘camera’ bag in the light blue that’s still available on the U.K. website, more expensive and I’ve not seen the colour IRL but I really like it online.

Ladies, mine has arrived and it is a stunningly beautiful bag and the colour is gorgeous BUT there are serious issues... It has arrived with a black stain on the dustbag, no protective covering either on the strap, tassels or tassel hardware, there is a dip to the top back edge already! and the inking is very rough for about a 2inch run along the edge of the strap. Quality control has failed big time. There was also a MatchesFashion label stuck to the bag where part of the label had been removed and left a sticky residue behind and so it stuck to the bag! I'm not a happy bunny at all :annoyed:
That is so disappointing! I work in a stockroom and that most certainly is a customer return that has not been vetted! I hope that they are looking after you

Hi there. Is your new bag on it's way to you now? I'm now in a similar position whereby I've sent photos of the issues mentioned on my last post across to them for the 'product specialists team' to review.... seems so long winded to jget something very, very simple done. I'm so disappointed having such a poor experience with such a high end item...... Anyhow, I'm hoping that you have your replacement and you're now happy with it, which proves these things can and do get fixed after all!
I waited but then I called and ended up speaking with Sahara who actually took my order over the phone; she escalated it then and there as I was worried it would sell out. Once my bag is received my replacement will be sent. I offered to buy another one then in case it sold out but Sahara explained that once the status is 'faulty exchange ' one will be reserved for you.

Painstaking process but hopefully will be worth it in the end. Don't wait, get on the phone during London business hours and tell them it obvious that the bag is faulty and that you are returning it either for a refund or a replacement. Either way, get the ball rolling for its return. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Interestingly, the orginal owners of Matchesfasion recently a sold their majority share of the business. . Teething problems maybe?

Mmm..like you i believe it's quite simple - bag not perfect so bag needs to go back! I've been promised a call back at mid day tomorrow with their 'verdict' after reviewing the photos I've sent .So tomorrow he hinted that they'd either offer me a further reduction or an exchange if I prefer. I've made it clear if i'm not happy by then, I will simply return, get my money back and shop elsewhere in the future. Will keep you all posted. The customer service agent who is helping me implied that he knew exactly what SHOULD be offered to me, but that the processes are in place that they had to be followed.
