Once my bag is received my replacement will be sent. I offered to buy another one then in case it sold out but Sahara explained that once the status is 'faulty exchange ' one will be reserved for you.

Painstaking process but hopefully will be worth it in the end. Don't wait, get on the phone during London business hours and tell them it obvious that the bag is faulty and that you are returning it either for a refund or a replacement. Either way, get the ball rolling for its return. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Interestingly, the orginal owners of Matchesfasion recently a sold their majority share of the business. . Teething problems maybe?

It all seems a bit of a shambles. They're promoting being in 30 years of business - not quite sure they'll repeat that if my experience with them is anything to go by. It wouldn't surprise me if they offer me something stupid tomorrow and I end up returning it for a refund. Let's hope, fingers crossed, that I'm pleasantly surprised by their efforts! Shall keep you posted!

By chance was his name Adrian? If so, go higher, nuce guy but no clout. Open and shut case imo, bag is below standard it needs to go back end of story. I work in a stockroom and unfortunately/fortunately I have learnt to hardball! Omg, the grief I went through just to get measurements from Harrods for a Ferragamo heel!!! So many unanswered emails, phone calls etc. . I ended up being looked after only because I pushed for it. The shoes were worth it though! !

I can't remember, I saw this in the teal in a department store. Think it was not buttery, a little bit of structure. Similar size to the Disco and understated, which is what I am looking for as I have bags with chains (Mulberry, YSL and Ferragamo ). I am reserving judgement on YSL as the first large Kate bag was faulty (I must be a magnet!). I mean it had an extremely obvious raised ' thumb print', no plastic covering etc. . My replacement is perfect but I find the surface leather thin if that makes sense. .

Super nice heels! His name is Dominic. I suspect there is an office full of agents all skilled to the same degree with the same amount of authority. Did you manage to talk to anyone higher up the chain that you could recommend? Thats' what I really need to do to get things moving I guess but Dominic persuaded me that he would 'look after me' and discouraged me from requesting a refund at this point. Tomorrow will be interesting! All for a handbag.... i must be nuts!!!:nuts:

I spoke to a Style Advisor who placed my order whom I have developed a lovely rapport with - Sahara. If I was you (I give 100% in my retail environment, so I expect it back); I would be calling at open business today (London ) ask to speak to a supervisor as this is unnecessary time wasting as the bag is blatantly faulty; either replace the bag or I am returning it for a refund. End of story. They either want your money or you are taking your business elsewhere!

Thanks for the compliment, I LOVE Ferragamo shoes as I have a wide foot and the comfort level is worth the price. However, it took me almost a week to buy the shoes as they are handmade and every style fits differently. Trying to get service ftom Harrods was awful!!!

Did you see the photo of my YSL bag? I was sooo disappointed when I opened up the gorgeous package and saw that! It was purchased directly through YSL.

Has anyone ever purchased the green disco bag? If so does it have color transfer on clothes and color from clothes get into the nag easily? I am considering buying the green or red color. Thank you in advance

I just got the new disco in green and am extremely happy with it. I had concerns about the color since green didn't appear very versatile. But the color on the disco bag is stunning and goes very well with basic colors such as navy, grey and white. I also worried that without the tassels, the bag would look designless and too simple. But it turns out to be more chic and elegant. And I think I prefer the new version to the old one.
I had a difficult time choosing between the mini marmont camera and the soho disco. The mini marmont camera looks stunning (and probably better) in person. I've also (weirdly) seen much better candid shots featuring the marmont camera than the marmont flap. But I still decided to go with the disco because it's cheaper, more functional and durable.

I received my red Soho Disco from Matches! I was actually a bit let down by the colour because all of the photos online show a very vibrant red (like the bottom of a Louboutin) but the one I got is darker and more muted, almost like it's a bit dirty. It's still beautiful, it's just darker than what I expected. I can't seem to capture the difference on camera, because it shows up to be brighter than it is in person. That being said, after reading about you guys' bad experiences getting Soho Discos from Matches, I did examine mine in a lot of detail and there were no visible imperfections. This is my only Gucci bag though so I don't know what quality is supposed to be like, but I found the glazing to be a bit rough in some areas, like it bleeds onto the leather a bit on the strap. The stitching also isn't completely clean where the strap connects to the bag. I mean Gucci isn't Chanel so I can't really expect Chanel-like perfection.

I kinda wish I got the beige instead, all of the Gucci stores near me were sold out of the red so I never got a chance to see it in real life, but I thought it would be the same red as the Marmont, which is a beautiful vibrant red.

Lastly, I'm pretty impressed with Matches packaging. I didn't get a Gucci box, just a Matches box but it's magnetic and a good size for the Soho Disco. Also it came super padded with tissues, both around the bag inside the box, and in the bag itself.

If you are not happy with the red, I would bite the bullet and return it and buy the beige. I recently bought a Ferragamo Fiamma bag in nutmeg and regret not spending a bit extra and buying what I originally wanted and that was a Mulberry Bayswater with strap. I am hoping that it will grow on me
