^ Absolutely, those are heirlooms :tender: Your father sounds like mine, he loved Italian style, particularly Gucci, although he bought for my mother and not for me, my mother does pass them along :p I bet your pieces get you compliments, they must be 'out of this world'.

Gucci have made a re-issue of the enameled tigers-head bracelet this season (first inspired by ancient jewels) and variations of it. Unfortunately, it's not silver only costume, still magnificent. The pieces hadn't come in when I was last in the store but I'm interested enough to go back for a look.

Guccis jewellery rules :yahoo:

I am absolutely in love with my snaffle bit bracelet. It is truly one of the most stunning pieces that I have ever seen. The presence of it is huge and it gets tons of compliments. I purchased the large horsebit pendant. The chain is 21" long and the horsebit is very large. As I mentioned earlier, I also have the Chiodo necklace. I also have two vintage chain belts, one blue enamel GG and the other goldtone horsebit. I have been collecting pieces for years now as being an equestrian, Gucci horsebit pieces are my favorite. Not to mention they have amazing presence. Fortunately, I purchased my snaffle bit before the exorbitant price hikes. It was expensive, but a total investment piece. I love Hermes enamel printed bangles as well, but I don't have any as I'm always saving for a Gucci 18k piece. I am new to the site so I will attempt to figure out how to get pictures up. I love reading all of the posts. It's so nice to see that others have an appreciation for Gucci gold.

^ they all sound amazing, I would love to see (I think we all would ;))

I don't have any vintage jewellery :( apart from gold G earrings from the mid 1990s all my pieces, silver and gold (and my chain belt) are fairly recent. I would love some vintage silver but I don't really do eBay (seems like a mine-field) so I'm really jealous of people that have.

Here is info for posting photos, I hope it will help

Thank you so much for the assistance in posting photos. I will get the pics up in the next couple of days. I have been so busy but hopefully things will be slowing down. Thanks again...pics to follow.

These pics are a long time in coming--Things got very busy on my end--not to mention that I recently discovered Hermes and quickly fell down the orange slippery slope. I was busy posting Hermes pics and neglected this Gucci thread for a bit. My apologies for taking so long to post these pictures. Here is my Gucci 18k Gold Jewelry collection. I am beyond in love with Gucci 18k. I will have to take photos of the vintage chain belts and post those as well.

I love this piece--this is the one I bought of off ebay. I knew it was authentic but had it authenticated anyway. It's amazing how scratched it looks with the flash--it doesn't look that way in person at all.

This ring is still available in stores as I got it not too long ago. It looks great on the middle or index finger as it is quite long--about 30mm. I have long fingers and found it to be too long for wearing it on a ring finger.

One of my most prized posessions...

Love all your golden goodies :woohoo:

I think we are twins bluebichonfrise I think is was called the 'Mors'. It came in a bangle and as bracelet.

Don't you find their rings come in such tiny sizes? I would love to wear some of their longer shaped Rings on my middle finger. I'm sure my fingers are fairly average but the biggest sizes only seem to fit my ring finger. I notice that the catwalk models nearly always wear their rings on their little fingers.

Have you seen the new enamelled (either black or white) domed rings? Love them, but they only come in tiny (as in little finger) sizes.

I haven't seen the new rings--I have tried to stay out of the store! Hahaha!!! I've spent all of my time in Hermes recently and I certainly can't do both. Where I live, Gucci and Hermes are right next door to each other in the mall--my two favorite brands! My goodness talk about temptation!!! :smile1:

I don't have too much of a problem with their rings only because my fingers are fairly thin--I wear a U.S. size five on my ring finger and a 6 on my middle. I have noticed that their rings come in such limited sizes as they don't have much backstock if any at all. When purchasing, if it doesn't fit, that's it. With this ring specifically that they only had two left in the country aside from the one I bought. I initially thought I wanted it for my ring finger but they couldn't find one in my size--only to fit my middle finger which just happened to be in my store. It worked out well as the SA said it looks better on the middle because of its length, which makes sense.

So you have the bracelet as well??? Isn't it fantastic!!!!!!:smile1:

Yup :D and it is fantastic

If your style lies halfway between Hermes and Gucci then you could be my twin in lots of ways . My H and my G are not next door (YSL is next door Gucci and LP is next door H, with Chanel, Aspreys in between and Burberry and BV opposite) but I am a bit like a ping pong ball between them, especially before Christmas.

When I travel I check out if Gucci has a store at the airport, buying big ticket items duty free makes a huge difference. I haven't found anything to buy as yet but those stores always seem have the odd amazing piece so I live in hope. I think you are very brave buying from eebay, and not just because of the usual authenticity thing but for 100 other reasons, but all power to you for taking the chance.

I think your luck was in with that horse-bit ring, perfect for the middle finger, in a way unless someone had fingers like yours it would have to be a middle finger ring.

The bracelet is amazing!!!!:smile1: so glad you have it as well! Don't you get a ton of compliments when you wear it?

I don't travel internationally very often. I did back when I was a flight attendant but of course my love of designer items came later. It would be so wonderful to shop at duty free. DH is from New York so we spend most of our time there and in Los Angeles. We have been talking recently and an international trip is most certainly in order. It is so wonderful when you find that one amazing piece that just presents itself out of the blue almost as if it were waiting for you. So I know what you mean about keeping hopes high. :smile1:

As for eBay, it can be frustrating. You do have to be very very careful when purchasing. I can typically spot a fake from a mile away. I only use eBay for unique items that I can no longer find. In that sense it is great if you have a trusted seller, but sadly not all are. That being said, I have not had a problem. What's awful is the dishonest sellers ruin the whole experience for everyone and that is just sad. I always prefer to purchase in the store though.

here it is...what is the stone, you think?

Hi there! I am thinking of getting this ring in Smoky Quartz. I am a collector of Gucci jewelry and love this ring. It looks fabulous on you, by the way. I was lucky enough to find it at my store and it is in my size, one of only three of my size in the country. Do you love yours and would you advise purchasing it? Thanks!!
