Global Hermes Profile

Given the fact that the maximum penalty related to GDPR is 4% of annual global turnover maybe H legal team have chosen to be more cautious. The topic of GDPR for the retail sector could be a separate thread...
Perhaps they can get around GDPR it since it is within the same company, i.e. you are a customer at Hermes regardless of which store you shop/or online.

I was recently told in the US that Europe has specific laws that prevents them to share our purchase history with other countries.
So I am still not sure if US SAs can really and will ever be able to see what we buy in Paris or Europe.
Maybe it’s just gossip to scare Americans to shop in Europe?
I am sorry but why should any European brand or company want to scare Americans?!? That does not make sense. I think it would be great for the many Americans who want to score a quota bag in Paris if Paris sees their purchase history and profile, which makes it also easier for SAs to check if someone is a client vs. reseller and also leads to better offers.
Only someone who wants to bypass the company rules to get more than 2 bags per year will have a problem with that…but why should a company want that people bypass their rules?
GDPR in Europe is strict but as long as the data is kept in one system, not accessible by everyone and reasonable…there are always ways. My thoughts
Have a great day ☺️

NYC uses the same system as the rest of the US, so if NYC can see it, so can everyone else. (I’m still not convinced it’s easily and readily visible on the basic profile page and anyway, how would the linking be done without an easy identifier such as passport number, which US boutiques do not require for domestic clients?)
I think passports are part of the reason they can see purchases of some of us and not of some others. I explain: it’s all linked to the profile. Many SAs in France and in the UK have already explained and shown it to me in their phones. I have more than one profile, not on purpose, but because my first purchase ever was at FSH where my profile was created based on my (now expired) passport. Later, I had other 2 profiles created in different locations, one based on my email and another one based on my phone. Therefore, depending on what information they have, they will be able to see only one, 2 or all of them. Funny thing is that I have asked many times for them to correct the information so I could have only one profile, what they were never able to do…that’s why it’s not a secret to any of my “stores” that I do have more than 1 account.

I have an old LV profile based on Old passport number and I was told I need to set up another profile based on new passport number. Subsequently, my SA said he will ask his supervisor to merge the 2.

Maybe it works like that too for H. But what good does it do to the H SA who do this? She can’t offer bags who are not seen to be loyal.

I am in the exact same situation!
I asked to merge my accounts and it’s still not fixed. So I asked my SA what he can see on my profile exactly. It’s so unnecessary complicated!

Are purchase histories linked between countries other than one’s home country and France? For example, the US and Switzerland or the US and UK? If one were to buy a quota bag in the US, would a store in a country other than France see the purchase? TIA!

Hi TPFers. There was a lot of chatter about the implementation of global hermes profile last year, but the topic dropped off. Can anyone confirm or have any info if Hermes currently has a global system? Can your home store see your international purchases and your airport purchases?

The global system, when fully launched, will only show a record of how many Quota Bags a client profile has purchased that calendar year. Under your name and address info will be a line “KB” with a number. This will include all quota bags purchased in any region for the year. Other items purchased in non-local regions will not be itemized (this is mostly due to privacy laws as well as technical issues for H, I’m sure). Currently some stores use this updated system while other stores have not updated the software yet, though I expect it to be coming shortly (this year).

When I was in Paris this summer I went to update my profile as I had changed address. I could see I had a French profile from my previous purchases in country, but also I could see a profile for me in the UK- listed as “internet UK”. This is interesting because I have not ever purchased from H.com in the UK (although I have created an account in the past) but I do regularly purchase in NBS store. I’d also updated my home address in the UK a few months prior. I didn’t click into the UK profile to check if it showed my UK spend history or not, but the SA helping me was a bit dismissive of it - I asked if I needed to update both profiles but she said just the French one, the other could be ignored. I think we will see a global (or at least region specific) account system soon, as that UK account WASNT there when I was shopping in store in March and the SA passed me her iPhone to confirm she had the right profile.

Takeaways:
1) Paris have got oversight of non-France profiles
2) non-France profiles are not automatically linked by name etc to France profiles (I had to update address in UK and separately in France)
3) local store does not have oversight of non-local profiles

I am in Germany and every time i got a call from the store. Someone from the boutique informed me that my bag was ready to be picked up (two times i got the exact bag i wanted; one time my SA called and asked If i would like ghw also instead of shw)
