Hello everyone,

I'm from Europe and I'm on the wishlist for a Kelly 28 in my local store about a year now. They told me when I placed the wish that it will take 2-3 years.
I'm waiting now about a year and yesterday I asked for the first time the status of the wish. I was told it will probably arrive in spring 2025...

So it will take a bit of time. But in the meantime I'm interested in buying a Constance 18, which is also a wishlist bag in my country. And we can only place one wish at a time.

My mother is a longterm client at this store, but not interessted at all in the bags.
Now my question is, do you think she can place a wish for a Constance under her name, but I'm buying it when it arrive, or do you think this isn't a good idea and I should wait until my Kelly will be arrived?

Thank you so mich for your help! :)

Sorry for the dumb question … but for countries with a wishlist system, does purchase history matter at all? Or anyone can thrown their name in the hat and get picked?
Can only speak for my store (northern europe, small city). Puchase history doesn't matter, as in you don't have to buy anything, not even a bottle of perfume, although you have to be a local (I think? I didn't ask about tourists) and set up a wishlist appointment, i.e. you cannot just walk in and put your name on the wishlist. There has to be a dedicated, agreed time, I don't know why. Probably some clients prefer to take their sweet time in discussing, debating about the pros and cons with their SA, about their damn bag. lol

Thank you for the response! I’d imagine that there are way more people who put their name on the list than the store can accommodate though. How do they decide who to grant the bags to?

Why don't you have your mother put a wishlist for a Constance and when it arrives, have your mother pay for it (maybe you can transfer money to her beforehand or buy it from her after)?

Otherwise since you're in Europe you can try the Paris lottery.

Not really. You have to remember that Hermès is not popular everywhere. In some places, like where I live, they don't even know (or don't care about) Birkins or Kellys. Before the pandemic, tourists can just walk in and buy Birkins from my store (the prespend-oriented mind cannot comprehend).

How do they decide who to grant the bags to?

First one on the list, I suppose. So imagine I put my name on a B25 black togo, and a month later you put your name on a B25 black togo as well. When a B25 black togo arrives, who do you think it will go to?

Anyway we are getting off topic from the OP's original question.

Purchase history, being local, relationship with the boutique, the usual.
My SA also surprised me when I was in the store, small country North West Europe.

I don't know what "I'm from 'Europe" means. We have countries in Europe. Almost every store has their own rules, let alone countries.

I would be honest and just ask for a Constance, so long as you're buying other things, it shouldn't make any difference.

@allanrvj is right, if you're near Paris you could try your luck there.
Thank you for the answer, I will just ask for it next time I'm visiting :)
Yes I know, it's because it's a very small store in Luxembourg which is not well known.

I'll speak only for my former store in Eastern Europe. I knew my SA a bit more closely and they told me that yes, spend matters - the high spenders will receive bags of their choice, including special or rare bags whilst general public is welcomed to put their names on the wishlist but delivery is not that likely. It matches my experience - when I was spending a lot and regularly, B/K/C bags were pouring on me (they even took one from display for me), the moment I stopped spending and just popped in quarterly for shoes or some scarves, the wishlist was never fulfilled for me (i had reasonable wish with an option of a surprise). The SA is not working there anymore so unsure what's the current situation.

Hello,
I'm on the wishlist for a Kelly 28 since one year, but now I'm hesitating with the size and think that maybe 25 would suit me better...
Does anybody have an experience with changing the wish? Will this take me back to the beginning and I have been waiting the year for "nothing"?

Hi everyone, not sure if this is the right thread but I would like to ask for some insights regarding the wish list system in Europe.

I asked my SA whom I have a good relationship if I should renew my wish list for a K28 since it was expiring in a month. He replied that there is no need to do that since the boutique "knows" me and that it will come eventually. This was already a year ago and I have not received any offers...which I am not bothered by as my wish list is a push offer. I am patient and can wait.
Now I am interested in a Kelly Cut and when I mentioned it, my SA very friendly said he would "work on it". I noticed he didn't visibly make any notes in my profile. Although he did offer me some unsuitable alternatives on the spot.

My confusion is now to do with the fact that SMs are the ones approving bag allocations. So if a bag is not noted down on a profile as wish list how could the SM possibly know of my requests?

Again, asking simply for clarification. I do not need or desperately want any of these bags. I'm simply trying to understand the current system.
