I’m battling which 2 of my 3 recently purchased Marmonts to keep, and I know for sure that the Small Camera Bag is a keeper. Probably about the same size and capacity as your flap small.
It’s actually amazing. I was debating between the small or the medium because I carry a lot of stuff, but was actually surprised at how roomy the small was. Which ones do you have?
I hear you. I only carry a ton of stuff when going to work (laptop charger, water bottle, and my usual small things...) but for every other outing, I actually don’t carry much. Card holder, iphone plus, key holder, car key (1 key fob-not bulky), mini compact mirror, thin comb and a lipstick. And only if it’s daytime, sunglasses in a cloth dustbag.
I have these 3 Marmonts. All serve different purposes and all beautiful. I just feel having 3 from the same collection is overkill. But honestly, these are so well made and well priced, and the colors are so beautiful, I don’t know which one to let go of. [emoji22][emoji848]

They all look so cute together. May I ask why you are letting go of one? Also, are you going to sell it? Personally, I think I would let go of the red one solely because of colour preference (I don't like bold colours and your other two seem like staple colours) and I think your black bag is more functional in terms of size.

HELP/UPDATE: I’m going back to the store today because the wrinkles bother me and that there seems to be some specks of glue upon further inspection.
The box is so big, do I really have to carry the whole thing or will they still replace my bag with just the stuffing? Also, I took off the wrapping on the straps, will they take issue with that?

Hello ladies! I need your opinion on this.. I just got my Marmont Small Flap.. then while snapping some photos of the bag (at home) I noticed some sharp folds at the back..its probably how they stored the bag, I suspect the leather strap was tucked at the back of the bag.
What do I do with it? Is it “normal” or doI have to return it to the store?? This is my first Gucci bag and first maliable bag (excluding my balenciagas) in years..
I know! They’re so beautiful. I love all 3, just feel that at almost $3400 worth in the same collection, it might be too much of the same, don’t you think?
Funny how you mentioned letting go of the red because it so happens that the red is my favorite now. And consider I already have a Disco Soho in red (and another bigger red crossbody for work) but for some reason red is the color I gravitate towards the most. I dress a lot in black, white, greys... so red is a color that always breaks my outfits nicely and adds a pop of color.
And the black is obviously a classic and a must have but that porcelain rose is so beautiful and also very wearable for dressier, more feminine looks.
Ugh, I am SO torn. Don’t know that to do.
I also want a Disco Soho in rose beige. Love that color since it’s a bit warmer and more neutral and love the look of the Disco for everyday and casual looks. But 5 small Guccis does seem like too many, right?
Problem is I’m not in love with any of the similar models in Prada, YSL or even Givenchy and their prices are higher for sure. ♀️
Not at all. Just take it in the dustbag and take the receipt too. You don’t need to take the box.
If can tell you though that the wrinkles are pretty common for Marmont leather. The first time I ordered a Marmont, I exchanged it twice thinking I got unlucky twice but then the 3rd one I got was almost perfect and sitting in my closet for a few days (stuffing inside intact) it got a bit wrinkled anyway.
Calfskin is very delicate, and because it is also super smooth it tends to wrinkle easily. Especially if you consider the Matelasse quilting. If you found glue too, then yes, take it to the store and exchange it. But know that the wrinkles are bound to happen. Most already come with wrinkles from the stores.
Also, I’ve heard that the flap bags have a bit more issues with threading and glue, and the flap pointing up or having gaps, etc. I haven’t heard of many issues with the camera bags, if it helps to know.

Yeah, totally looks like a storage mark. I had something similar on one of my bags. Try stuffing it out. Fill that part with bubble inserts or a lot of paper (folded, not crinkled to avoid further wrinkles) and press against the marks on the inside. That should help release the indentation.
Or if it really bothers you, go exchange it. A brand new bag should be a joy, not a problem, you know?
Do keep in mind though, that this bag is very prone to getting wrinkles in time. Most of them do. Many even come with wrinkles and marks from the stores. I’ve seen it happen many times. I personally returned a total of 4 Marmonts because of this.
Exchange it. I just exchanged my small Marmont flap today and I’m so glad I did it. It’s really worth getting a stock that’s perfect for you as you paid a lot for it.
Also, the creasing I’d understand but, as you said, some are sharp folds. I would definitely exchange it. The sooner, the better.
Thank you! I always appreciate your replies and posts. I successfully exchanged my item today and I couldn’t be any happier. The SA was really nice despite not getting a commission as it was just not exchange, however the manager (not sure) was giving an annoyed look as she was inspecting the bag and explaining how it’s “normal” and that “all bags are like that”. Thanks, captain obvious. If I’m gonna spend my money, might as well be very happy with my purchase. But I kept my mouth shut the whole time because I was so tired from work and they nevertheless granted my exchange anyway so I’m very happy with that.
