Yeah, totally looks like a storage mark. I had something similar on one of my bags. Try stuffing it out. Fill that part with bubble inserts or a lot of paper (folded, not crinkled to avoid further wrinkles) and press against the marks on the inside. That should help release the indentation.
Or if it really bothers you, go exchange it. A brand new bag should be a joy, not a problem, you know?
Do keep in mind though, that this bag is very prone to getting wrinkles in time. Most of them do. Many even come with wrinkles and marks from the stores. I’ve seen it happen many times. I personally returned a total of 4 Marmonts because of this.

Very well said! @WillWordForBags

Will give it a try to exchange it today.. I hope It goes well.. Sometimes exchange experiences are not so great as how SA treat you when you purchase these bags.
These shouldn’t be a norm.. :(

Perhaps Im just overthinking.. XD

Thank you dear!!

Exchange it. I just exchanged my small Marmont flap today and I’m so glad I did it. It’s really worth getting a stock that’s perfect for you as you paid a lot for it.

Also, the creasing I’d understand but, as you said, some are sharp folds. I would definitely exchange it. The sooner, the better.

I am mentally/emotionally prepared for the creasing it will have in the future as it will give “character” to the bag but unfortunately not for Store flaws.. and this is my very first Gucci bag in my collection, I was hoping for that dreamy experience like the first time I got my very first LV bag, ages ago..

I was too excited when I got this bag, it’s actually the second bag they got from their stock as the first one they showed me has that gray spot on the corner of the flap, they even tried to wipe it out and it wont come off.. When they showed me this bag the front part was okay and I noticed this sharp fold at the back which at that time I assumed as a part of the stitch pattern of the bag.. (the lighting in the store and the excitement of getting my very first bag blinded me I guess)..

When my heightened emotion subsided, I saw these sharp folds and I must admit, I was devastated.. had I not taken a picture of this bag, it will be too late for me to exchange it..

Taking a photo of the bag also made me realize the flaws. Keep us posted once you do the exchange pls

Thank you! I always appreciate your replies and posts. I successfully exchanged my item today and I couldn’t be any happier. The SA was really nice despite not getting a commission as it was just not exchange, however the manager (not sure) was giving an annoyed look as she was inspecting the bag and explaining how it’s “normal” and that “all bags are like that”. Thanks, captain obvious. If I’m gonna spend my money, might as well be very happy with my purchase. But I kept my mouth shut the whole time because I was so tired from work and they nevertheless granted my exchange anyway so I’m very happy with that.

I’m always thrilled to contribute, my love.
So happy you could exchange it. I totally hear you about going to the store to exchange/return and fear the attitude of most SA or Managers. It’s happened to me so many times over the years. I’ve opted for mail returns at this point, even though it take so much longer. But sometimes, going to the store is inevitable due to time and the specific situation like choosing something you want to see with your own eyes.
Glad you got your new bag with no wrinkles. Keep me posted on how it looks after a few wears. [emoji8]

Ugh! I totally know what you mean. SA can be so judgmental. I mostly avoid going to return something at the store because of how they treat us when it’s anything but a purchase. I’m like “woman, please. I just spent $2,000 on a bag and you’re going to give me attitude?” Screw that. [emoji23]

New bags should be perfect. Expecting that is not overthinking. They’re not doing us a favor. We are spending our hard earned money on their items and therefore they get salaries and commissions. We’re doing THEM the favor! Let’s get it straight, ladies.
Walk in there like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (on the way back from the shops who were nice to her lol) and if they so much as smirk at you, return the bag there and buy somewhere where they make the experience as enjoyable and exciting as it is meant to be.
Keep me posted. Always a pleasure, my love. [emoji8]

Exactly.
One thing is to see wrinkles and a few mark in time, after wearing it a lot. Noticing the natural age process of these leathers, etc. But another thing is to purchase the bag brand new with a very obvious dent already.
Not acceptable.
I returned 4 different bags until I got the ones I have now which will mostly all get wrinkled in time. I don’t mind that.
But I wasn’t going to be ok with a blemished bag right from the start. It actually drains my excitement away when that happens.
These are not on sale, dude! They’re not 50% off. If they were, then that’d be a different story.
A new designer bag needs to be perfect. You wouldn’t buy a brand new expensive Mercedes Benz with nicks or dents, and the dealership wouldn’t dream of giving you the car in that condition.

Tough luck  I went to the store and they have far worse flap bags. Pictures below...

Although I should say that the experience was not unpleasant at all as my SA (the SA who assisted me during my purchase) was as nice as the time that I made the purchase. She also discouraged me to steam iron (even with thick cloth or paper sheets or wax paper & cloth) the sharp folds as it might do more damage than fixing it.

Anyways, it is still a lovely bag and I still love it.. I guess I can finally move on since I know I tried to get the “best” stock that they have in store.. ❤️

Btw this is in Gucci Qatar for those who are curious.

Wrinkling is totally fine but sharp folds aren't. I hope the one you chose didn't have one and that you're happy with your item

I agree.. unfortunately, the remaining bags they have on stock are far worse that mine as the have creases in front side >> the flap area.. and the Gucci store here in Qatar has very limited supply of bags due to current logistical challenges..

Nevertheless I still love my marmont flap bag. I have to move on and create happy memories with the existing folds and future creases it may acquire in the future.. ❤️

The creases did partially flatten the bag (the ones they have in store) something i think is irreversible which made me choose to stick with my current bag that has perfect condition infront and a minor folds at the back.

But I agree, with such premium pricing it is expected to have a perfect & luxurios quality in return.. premium price begets immaculate quality product.

I understand. In the end, is it about enjoying our bags. If you went to the store and compared and feel you still got the best one of them, then just make peace with it and rock your flap bag. It is a beautiful piece and a crease or a fold is not as bad as a rip, tear or stain.
I think that fold in the back will smooth out in time. You'll see. Leather is very maleable. Stuff it with bubble paper (those big green ones that in the box when we order from department stores) and sit it up and give it time. It will at least, get a lot better.
I do it with all my bags. It is so funny cause sometimes I notice lots of wrinkles and then stuff it and the wrinkles go away completely. Then I wear it and other wrinkles appear. It is just the nature of these leathers.
Enjoy your new baby and do post pics for us to drool.

Ok ladies. I made my cut.
I decided to return the Marmont Mini chain bag in porcelain rose but keep the black small camera bag and the red mini camera bag. The mini chain bag is more like a WOC and although it fits more that I thought, is still is a micro bag and I would only be able to use it very occasionally for like a wedding or ultra fancy affair and my life is more laid back, like nice dinners and casual outings for sure.
I still need a nude/neutral color bag and so my definite pick for my next purchase a Soho Disco in rose beige.
I love the perfect tone of rosey beige warm nude of this bag and I am an absolute die hard fan of the Soho Disco due to its shape, size and how easy it is. I have had black and now red and it is truly my most worn bag of all (and still looks like new).
I will at some point surely add another Marmont in the porcelain rose to my collection, maybe a mini or a small camera bag, but for now I’m keeping the other two Marmonts and that’s plenty. I tell you though, it was hard to part with that mini chain bag. Is it so gorgeous and the chain is divine but that’s another $900 just sitting in my closet and I don’t think it’s worth it for now.
I am definitely someone who needs a bit of space and discovered that the mini camera bag is the smallest I can go.
But if you like the Super Mini and can fit your essentials in that one, do try the Mini Chain bag. To me, it’s a better bag with more space and more comfortable and it costs a bit less.
Thanks for all your help, ladies. I’ll keep y’all posted. [emoji8][emoji1373]

Your decision makes total sense! Enjoy the two you kept! Congrats!!! Both amazing bags!!
