I adore the Boite however, if I'm being realistic, i may not use it all often. It really is a beautiful bag. A work of art, however not the most practical bag to use. The Alma is very beautiful in its own right and I will definitely use it more. I already have the boite in the canvas so both boites should look beautiful on display in my closet.

Ladies, I'm super excited. My SA got me the luggage tag. Super excited. If anyone is stalking the OTG, the boite or the malle, my SA in LV let me know he has them.
I guess Pochette tete - the bags with the faces and the Twist bag. IMO the ’faces’ bags are just for collecting rather than wearing as a bag.
So my sis was invited for a trunk show tonight and the Fornasetti pyramid trunks were on display. Very lovely interior but seriously overpriced vs the usual monogram. Guess that's what pictures are for! Haha 
Major disappointment on the Alma bb. This is the real deal shiny cheap feeling patent leather. I’m torn as this little bag is beautiful to look at, but the hand is awful except for the gorgeous matte black calfskin on the bottom of the bag which was described as the same leather on the white body. And if the white leather had been the same this would have been a total stunner in every way. I’m am truly disgusted that LV constantly makes mistakes, mis-describes items, etc etc. never would have ordered had it been described as patent. At least when I order vernis I have chosen that finish, and love my two vernis pieces - this feels like a bait and switch. I’m attaching a few pics for those of you that can’t see irl. The first pic looks like matte calfskin, but the other two show its shiny slick finish.
For such a little bag it holds a lot, and I love the mono straps, handles and inside mono cloth, the lock keys and clochette. The worst part is trying to figure out if the print and the rest is worth the cheap patent body with the awful hand. As most here know, leather like patent, epi, epsom, saffiano are lower grade leathers that get stretched coated or imprinted to hide imperfections. And this body just feels cheap and looks cheap in bright light. And I hate returning things to my lovely SA - I know they can turn around and sell to someone that would love the bag, but yikes.
Oh well, grousing session done. I know some here love patent, and I buy a patent bag about once every 5 years but this wasn’t supposed to be patent! Not for almost $3k. Good luck everyone, hope you are happy with what you receive. It’s too expensive otherwise. Now I have a decision to make. Hope everyone gets what they wanted though.
PS I’m usually not so grumpy, so pardon the griping, but if anyone would get the disappointment of something you totally didn’t expect when you are so excited to receive a new bag, it would be the lovely people here on tpf!

Such a bummer! I’m sorry this didn’t turn out the way you hoped. I wonder why they made some of the bags patent and some of them not? I also wonder if it was a last minute change…it definitely doesn’t give any indication on the website that the Alma is patent, nor does the photo imply that.
The bag really does look beautiful in your photos, but I can understand the disappointment and frustration, especially since it was not marketed properly.
Perhaps leave it out for a few days and then decide! If you like the Noe or Onthego, those are with the matte leather and look stunning as well.
Thanks so much sarahinthecity! I sure wish the bag was as described. Though the Noe and OTG look beautiful, was looking for a smaller piece. My guess is they changed the leather to save $$$. I am going to keep it out, look at it, try it in with a few things and then decide. It would be waterproof anyway
And I do love it with my scarf!!A little late, but I know for me the bulk of color transfer happens on the bottom which is where the black leather is so I am less worried about color transfer. What I worry about is UV damage eventually turning the coating yellow. I feel that it doesn't look as shiny due to it being mostly white and patterned.
