I hope you’ll love it! It can’t be very glossy patent anyway, as it looks so matte. :amuse:
Hey everybody! I’ve decided to chime in regarding the Alma as I’ve seen every bag in store at this point. The collection (architectural print) is split half and half in bags when it comes to shiny vs matte. The bags with the architectural print that are matte are the Capuccines, OTG, Neo Noe, and the Petit Sac Plat. The rest are in a coated calfskin. I wouldn’t say they are patent as they actually aren’t that shiny. It’s almost like a glazing that will catch the light just a little bit to accentuate the design but nothing that would interfere or distract from the beautiful print. If any of you are familiar with Fornasetti candles, I would say that’s almost exactly what it feels like in person when looking at it. Completely matte from some angles and highlighted in other angles. I had initially ordered two bags - the petit sac plat and the petite malle but after seeing how the matte version almost makes the design look like a drawing rather than a piece of art, I dropped the petit sac plat and picked up a cannes in its place. I don’t really think you can compare this finishing to vernis so think of it as something completely new and have your mind open to it! I have a video of the Cannes in direct sunlight that I am going to try to put on this thread that shows it is mostly matte even in direct sun!

Thank you so much. I am considering petite malle and the cannes. Do you have any suggestions? May I ask when you ordered or picked the cannes? I contacted a SA about cannes, but no cannes in stores.

I am obsessed with the Alma (LV x Fornasetti) and the on the go. Actually I have no idea how to get my hands on one. Any help, pleaaaaaaaaaaase, pretty please? Do I need to preorder or do I need to wait patiently till it shows up on the website?

Those clutches didn't make it into production, no? :(

I received my Fornasetti luggage tag the other day! I did not realize it was patent, but it does not bother me as it is a small piece. I feel very lucky that my SA was able to secure this for me as it is out of stock online and seems like the stores didn't receive many. I included one close up photo where you can see the glare of the light in the room to try to show its shininess...you really can't see it much in photos though. (I also have yet to remove the plastic sticker from the front.) I'm not sure how I will wear the luggage tag yet, but I tried it out on my Noe for photos

I really think the pieces in this collection are works of art - if I had unlimited funds I would love to purchase the Noe and Capucines in this collection as well!

I so appreciate you taking the time to describe the bags so thoroughly. How very kind. I do love this print, so I will toss the “vernis” fear and wait until I draw my Alma from the dust bag Tuesday. And thanks for the Cannes video. It really helped. I sometimes think a by definition experience with LV is the unknown and wondering until you can actually see and feel their bags. And the piece of art description is lovely! Thanks again. :flowers:

Wow that tag is a beauty! It looks so 3D and like a tiny piece of art. Thanks for the pics. Just lovely!

If you’re wondering which one you should go for instead, that would be up to you! Initially I was drawn to both but decided on just the petite Malle because I was worried the Cannes was a little too gimmicky. So I pre ordered the petite Malle and the patit sac plat a few weeks back. Then on Thursday, my store had received my items so I went in to take a peak at them and fell hard for the Cannes that my SA brought out for me and realized that the Cannes is the most artistic of the collection while still being completely usable and easy to style. So I got a refund on the petit sac plat and put in a full deposit for the Cannes. Apparently my store had received two Cannes, one of which was a pre order and the other which was not. So I got lucky in that sense. If you are really trying to source one, I would consider reaching out to or looking at all of “FoxyLV” stories on Instagram. She’s always reposting associates from all over that have stock on limited items. That’s how I got a coussin when it first came out without a pre order! I saw today a story posted about a petite malle being available but nothing about the Cannes. They are both stunning pieces and you can’t go wrong although I would say personally, the petite Malle is more of a “classic and forever” type bag but I love them both wayyyy too much! Hahaha! I hope you are able to find the pieces you are looking for.

It’s gorgeous, congrats! Can’t wait to receive mine! I’m going to use it with azur Speedy, I hope they’ll match together well. I also would love to have a bag in this print, especially the Noe, which I loved at the first sight, but I’ve spent enough and I’m not sure if I would be brave enough to actually use it. They are all gorgeous though.

Thank you and I hope yours arrives soon! I would love to see pics of yours on your speedy once you try it out! I agree that I’d probably be nervous to use the Noe in real life too…it’s so pretty, I’d hate to mark up the white somehow. Even just the luggage tag makes me nervous. But I try to remind myself that these are just things and they’re best enjoyed when used
