Furla makes fabulous bags! I think the quality is excellent and it is an overlooked brand. I actually think the quality is better than Coach. Their designs tend to be more "classic". If you find a style you like, I say go for it!

Hi am reposting this here as as didn't hear any thing in the authenticate forum. Could someone please help me with this question, I have contacted Furla customer service too but not got a reply:

I have bought this Furla bag and the seller said it was real snakeskin, but I am sure it is actually textured leather. It says genuine leather inside. Could someone tell me what skin it is please as I want to return it if it is not real snakeskin.

Hi jjones,

I own several Furlas and to my knowledge, they primarily use calfskin. I haven't heard of any designs that use snakeskin. However, they are known partly for the high quality of their embossed leathers, so sometimes it can be hard to tell.

Also, your link didn't work for me, could you upload some pics to imgur and post the link?

Edit: I was able to pull up the original listing, and the scales look really good but I still think it's embossed. Since this reply is so late, what did you decide?

Edit 2: Looks like you returned it, the bag was relisted here with a more complete description:

FURLA SNAKESKIN STYLE BAG 100% GENUINE LEATHER

BOUGHT BY MYSELF IN NEW YORK

HOBO STYLE, FEELS LIKE SNAKESKIN YOU REALLY CANNOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE AND IT IS 100% AUTHENTIC FURLA

GENUINE LEATHER WITH FURLA TAG AND ZIPPER WITH FURLA ON TAG

So, good call. Still absolutely lovely though...

The ones I've seen has mostly been calf, but in different textures, smooth/pebbled/embossed. I think they generally make some very nice bags but they do have sales with deep discounts so I'd hesitate to buy them at full price.

The handles on one of my leather totes split though but its was my fault for overloading it - I don't baby my bags at all. I took it back and they re-stitched the handles for added strength for a small fee. My mother is still using it now.

Hello.
I'm new, so if I posted this question in the worong place, I apologize.
Does anyone know where I can sell my pre-owned Furla items? The 2 consignment shops I trust (BagBorrowSteal and Fashionphile) do not accept Furla. Many Thanks!

I adore their amalfi tote, but it is so hard to find. I love their creative, quirky, colorful bags. never had a quality issue with them. It's that italian in me that totally goes for the bright colors!

I have a nice vintage Furla shoulder bag in croc-embossed calfskin. Many Furla bags are embossed leather and the quality is quite good. The bag I have is well made, has lovely hardware, and is very pretty and shiny. It is much more structured than the Coach bags of the same vintage, and the embossed leather, at least, seems quite stiff. I think it is a nice looking bag, but I prefer the slouchy vintage Coach leathers.

I've only owned Furla SLGs but they were very durable. I had a small leather wallet in a light peach color that I used to cram full of way too much stuff and when I eventually sold it off, it still looked beautiful and barely used.
