I have not been to the CCO in some time... I'm in Tampa and the closest here is Ellenton Outlets. I may have to make a trip and look for the Buttershine ones or almost lipstick one weekend. They didn't have that in the past though- usually just regular lipstick and lots of gifts w/ purchase that they sell...
Your dog is adorable, BTW!
I haven't bought lipstick from a department store in over a decade, but all this talk about Black Honey got me curious.
Tried it on (along with Sugar Fig lipliner) and was sold! Love the color - only wish it stayed on longer. Thanks for the tips!
Yep
BTW, has anyone tried the new lipgloss pencils (they are called Chinatown pencils) by Lipstick Queen? They have a sheer red called scarlet, if it's anything like their other products it's gotta be great.
I am soooo tempted by those pencils.
I'm not sure I have that color (I have so much dam^ crap! But I LOVE the gloss pencils! LOVE LOVE!
They are not really glossy, though - very subtle so it depends upon what you are looking for.
They are very sheer and not at all sticky. IMO they are barely glosses (but for me, that is a good thing)
I have to go look at the site, but I thought the Chinatown pencils have funky names not really the color descriptions - I am going to look at mine right now:
Chinatown Chase a bright pink (but not that bright on lips)
Chinatown Mystery ( looks like the black Honey a bit)
C. Thriller - a sheer red
C. Crime - pink with a more blue-pink look than the Chase
HTH
Thanks, chessmont! That's so helpful!!I actually took the plunge and got the Crime gloss pencil yesterday (and tried on all of the others while I was at it -- I would never have though that the Crime would look good on me since I am olive but it looks great). Crime and Thriller were my faves --
(x10) them!!
I am a major fan of Lipstick Queen, it just keeps getting better. The texture of the pencils is just as you describe -- amazing!
My next purchase will be Thriller, for sure.
-I'm happy my descriptions were accurate. They were a little more than I wanted to spend, but I did not find a drugstore equivalent. I love 'em! You said you tried them on- where are they available? I just get them online...
They are at Henri Bendel...and some of the line is available at CO Bigelow (certain locations, I think). HTH!
And nope, there doesn't seem to be an equivalent to these. They are too cool!
The lipsticks are my all-time fave as well, esp. the "Saint" line. I just wish that that there was more color selection, but I understand that Poppy (the owner/designer) wants to focus on quality, not quantity. If the stuff's that good, it's fine by me.![]()
-Oh, I live near San Francisco, I don't know if there is any place here that sells the line.
I have some of the 'Saints' as well.
