Take the applicator from the red one, and dunk it into the clear one and wave it around to mix. Do that a few times and test, do it some more if you need to until you get just the right amount of color.

If you want it to be less "glossy," blot it.

Or if you are stuck on it being a stick, try Burt's Bees in Ruby or Rose.

-Great idea! I like that mixing the glosses - I think I have one of each with which to try your method.

I just took some pics of the Clinique Buttershine in Cherry Quartz. :) First, in the morning sun & swatch on the back of my hand ;) Looks wayyy stronger than it is.

These are my lips w/out anything. I think they are sort of pigmented.

And then, this color emphasizes it a little :) and those pretty, gold sparkles! Wow, my lips look weird. But I hope it gives you an idea of what the color looks like.

-That is very nice - I only looked on the Nordstorm website (I htink) because I was ordering some other things and did not see it there. Maybe I was mistaken - I'll go to the Clinigue website and have a look

All I could find on the website was "black honey" or something like that. I looked around and didn't find it. Maybe I just suck at searching, haha!

peachy pink: If you really love that color and it's discontinued, keep a good-sized sample of it and send it to Three Custom Color (they have a website, and are in NYC). They can remake any discontinued or still available color for you to your specifications (gloss/sheer lipstick/matte, etc.) and they will keep it on file forever...I did it with my HG Bobbi Brown lipgloss, and it's fabulous! I also had a favorite lipgloss from Three Custom Color (they have their own makeup line, one of my faves) made into a sheer lipstick for myself. :yahoo:

Not cheap, tho -- the first couple tubes you get cost the most (around $60), but then every tube after that is much cheaper. HTH! :smile1:

I so hate it when my fave stuff gets axed. :sad:

peachy pink -look what I got!!!!!!!!!! Its called Cranberry Cream and is a lot darker than yours but its the same kind. I got it at CCO. Do you have one by you? They had a ton of colors but not yours. It was $10 :yahoo:

Armani has beautiful shades of red (sheer) lipstick. Unfortunately, they're on the pricey side. It's the only lipstick that I have found that actually seems to hydrate and give color well without causing those flakes and dryness on the lips.

Black Honey from Clinique is also very nice.

I haven't bought lipstick from a department store in over a decade, but all this talk about Black Honey got me curious.

Tried it on (along with Sugar Fig lipliner) and was sold! Love the color - only wish it stayed on longer. :( Thanks for the tips!
