FEBRUARY 2024 Chanel Purchases

I’ve been into vintage Chanel lambskin lately, and I was psyched to find a medium flap in pristine condition and a rare color by a reseller. The body of the bag is pristine - I’m not sure if I should post photos and videos as they technically belong to the reseller themselves, and I have it in writing that the previous owner was a collector who never used the bag. Naturally I assumed the strap would be in the same condition, given that it was said to be never used.

I received the bag whilst away. Bag, flap, interior—as shown—though the color is faded as compared to the photos on the website. The strap? Another story. Cracked leather, brownish-red discolorations deeply embedded throughout except for one segment that was strategically featured in the photos. I’m usually a boutique shopper—but if I’m seeking a discontinued/rare item, I’ll buy from reputable sites with return policies just in case. This… was a lapse. I was elated to find a light blue 1990s lambskin with SHW in such beautifully depicted condition. Silly me.

Response: ‘you never asked for photos of the strap’. Maybe this is on me, especially as I took quite a while to return home and inspect the Chanel in person, but I feel that the seller should have disclosed the discoloration and cracking throughout the strap. Heaps of people are into vintage Chanel and if the seller had shown the damage, I’m sure they’d have buyers queuing up who would have the confidence and ability to repair the extensive damage, simply not mind, or elsewise! I’d like to avoid inflammatory words but this felt like deliberate strategic misrepresentation.

I went back and reviewed the videos and photos and noticed that in each instance, the strap was discreetly tucked out of sight or only the good segments were shown. :/ staged photo is seller. The rest are mine. No filters or camera trickery or lighting were used.

I feel like a massive dupe, when I usually pride myself on being a savvy shopper. Sticking to the boutique experience or Fashionphile from now on. I was so looking forward to this gift to myself after a rough patch, too!
This is definitely a deliberate misrepresentation and the seller should accept a return. I agree that unused vintage bags do exists, I have found them myself. I am also very guilty of having bags I have owned for more than 10 years in special conditions that I have never used. You should also consider naming the seller in the resellers forum.

I tried these and loved them as well. Only reason I didn’t get them is I don’t know how to work them into my wardrobe, but they are super comfy and stylish. Still thinking about them now
I don’t have a pair of loafers at all and think would be great staple with cropped jeans, pants etc for work or lunches etc. I have to travel too so this or fun sneakers …but I bought because more classic not as trendy. Lots of options, but I would not spend the money if you won’t wear them. I sure hope I do!

Is she worth saving??? I paid 1500$ for her I’m thinking to taking her in for a facelift lol fix the creasing and the rubs

And some action shots…

Plus some gratuitous pictures of Paris because they’re pretty
Oh my goodness, that blue is DIVINE! Is it 24P? I recently purchased a lighter shade (I would call it more of a cornflower blue) mini rectangular from 24P, but I didn’t know this shade would be available. I am crazy for blue, I want them all but know that isn’t sane :D

It is a perfect sapphire and I’ve been looking for one for years

I’ve completely stopped asking for rectangular minis in London, where I live, because there are never any available! And then I was in Paris for the weekend and a braver (or more imaginative, or madder, or maybe just more optimistic :lol:) woman than me asked to see rectangular minis and there were 4 colours! And she walked away without buying any! So this one was miiiiiinneee :love::drinks:

I don’t actually know what the code is as they don’t give you the tags with the purchase in Paris, but the Chanel & Moi warranty with it gives the following information.

Congratulations on your cornflower blue beauty and of course it is perfectly sane to want alllll the bluuueeess

Beautiful bag! This means it's from last year's 23B collection. I couldn't even find this anywhere in the US; maybe we didn't get it for that collection. Congratulations on your score!

It is even more special because you found her in PARIS :D

A pair of REV trainers and a little 24C zippy coin purse (and a handwritten birthday card!) from the Chicago boutique from a birthday trip I did~

Additional funny little story: I was walking around Rush St where all the designer boutiques are and I had a full on Carrie Bradshaw moment and fell flat on my face in Dior as I was walking through their doors and everyone on the first floor saw me haha. I shot up and out of being embarrassed said a little too loudly "I'm here to look at wallets!" Everyone was so lovely though there and they just sat me down and gave me a coffee and brought me everything I wanted to see haha

I went to the boutique yesterday to decide which color of the 24P sweetheart mini flap I like, spotted this 23K gray WoC on the display and snatched it in a heartbeat. I have been waiting for a perfect Caviar gray mini for the longest time. A Classic WoC will do. I feel like I saved $2000 today :giggle:View attachment 5946186
Just the perfect shade of grey! Love it! Congrats!

Oh, please share more photos regarding the trainers. Are they comfy? How is the fit, small or normal size? TIA!
