lol- my family used to think im nuts but now they are used to it! My father and brother look like their eyes are going to pop out of their head when I tell them how much some of my handbags cost-lol, but they are generally pretty supportive. my boyfriend is so cute about my purse obsession. if we are out in public together and he notices a purse that he think looks nice he will be like "look baby!- That one is nice,isnt it?" lol- while he has pointed out a few nice bags he will still point out the fake coach :laugh:- lol- i appreciate him tryin tho!!

My SO certainly thinks it is ridiculous, but he does see the quality in some of the expensive bags. He doesn't mind my obsession as long as I am responsible with my funds, etc. If I pay my bills and can still afford a new bag, he is fine. He's the same with watches, camera, game consoles, etc so he really can't say anything. = ) My parents think I'm insane, although I got my mom a Michael Kors bag for Christmas and now I'm sure she'll get into other brands. Mwahaha, I've brought her to the dark side! And when I asked my brother what he thought of a certain Chanel bag, he said, "dude, you could get two of my TV's for that price" - cuz he had just bought a massive flatscreen! LOL!

My husband is totally supportive, I work very casual hours at a well paying job, so if I want something, I pick up a shift. He loves that I am confident when I look my best, and understands (as much as a man can) why a quality purse makes a woman feel so.

My parents? Hell no. They will never find out. My dad thinks because he waited 20 years for his dream Ferrari, that he can lecture me about waiting, and saving everything, blah blah.. Ugh. Love him but what I spend is a conversation best avoided or blatantly lied about for family peace! Has nothing to do with lack of trust, he loves to lecture and lecture and lecture when it comes to money. Granted, he has lots, so I guess he assumes he has the "right". NOT!

Wow, this thread's got popular! Anyway, I doubt my mum would understand - she buys most of her bags in Bali ;) We all know what that means - she says that you can't tell the difference and fakes are as good as the real thing!

OMG yes!!! My BF supports me sometimes and usually for special occasions a bag is what I get. However, my Mom, Aunt, And Grandma do not understand my fetish. But I really do not care as long as I pay my bills and am not hurting anyone I'ma do what makes me happy....

yes. my mom thinks i am insane cause i am saving up 700 dollars for a louis vuitton. she always tells me that she would never spend that much on 1 item like a purse or something in her life. its actually kind of annoying cause i dont see why it should matter to her. its my money!

My bf thinks I'm nuts. He hates purses, would never buy me one. Most everyone else I know would also be very disapproving if they knew how much I spent.

My mom and my good friend are my only partners in crime. (I'm glad I at least have them -- oh, and everyone at TPF ;))
