Yes, there are definitely bags I do NOT carry around my family, at least not for several months after I buy them. The same goes for certain friends, although we all have things that we're willing to spend money on that other people don't understand, so I try to ignore the sideways glances and not comment on their purchases which seem strange to me.

I have no significant other. However, I feel like if I DID, I wouldn't necessarily hide the purchases, since it would be MY money paying for them, you know? But I understand that not everyone has that kind of relationship.

DH knows all about my purses. He does the bills, and I even just check with him to let him know I am getting a bag usually before I pull the trigger. Secrets are bad, and how can you enjoy something as wonderful as a purse, if there is a cloud of secrecy around it?

My mom/sis knows about all my bags. My co-workers don't know how many bags I have because I come in early and leave early they are very judgmental. I always just bring a wristlet to lunch and or a quick shopping trip.

my hubby knows about all of my bags & he knows how much they cost too. i don't hide them from him. he paid for most of them anyway. the rest i bought with my own money so no need to hide. he understands my passion for bags. he even helped pick out colors.

as for my family, i don't know & really don't care. it's none of their business.

My fiance knows everything about my bags - including the price and how many I have. He is getting to the point of saying I have too many, but he's still encouraging me to get more, and he does buy me bags if we see one that I love and he likes.

My mum knows how many bags I have, and she has an idea of the price of them - but she I don't think she knows I got a few on sale.

My dad and brother have no clue at all. They don't care about my bags, but are more keen on my car and my kitchen.

My friends don't know as far as I'm aware.
I've had a few colleagues coming to look at one of my bags, but other than that, I don't know how many bags they've noticed and if they know the price of them.

My bf knows about all my bag purchases...in fact, he's usually there when the purchases are made. He likes to go shopping, and sometimes he helps me make decisions when I need a second opinion!
We don't hide purchases from each other.

I do have a few bags I've purchased recently that my co-workers haven't seen, but that's just because I haven't gotten around to carrying them yet. I don't hide my bags from them either; I work for my money and it's only fair that I have a little play money to spend as I see fit.

I have a secret-from-myself bag stash LOL. I have so many I can pull one out from years ago and it will be greeted with "is that new?", sometimes they are a surprise to myself (I had no idea I had so many vintage Loewes/Trussardis/Emmys/Korets...:noggin:)

The only 'secret' bags and SLGs are new ostrich/pythons/croc that I never wear in front of my (newly) politically-correct mother. It's her new 'thang' and I don't need the repeating 'lecture'.

My SO already thinks I have too many bags, and his opinion is only based on the ones he actually knows about :graucho:. About half of my bag collection is a secret to him, carried on days when I know he won't see it. They're paid for out of my own savings account, but I know he wouldn't approve.

Anyone else have a secret bag collection? Do you think this is a bad habit?

I don't keep secrets from my hubs, especially expensive ones like my handbag addiction problem. We're fairly low-income and my bags are purchased spur-of-the-moment, when-we-have-the-money type purchases, and while he probably wouldn't care if I did sneak one in, I don't like the idea of spending money without him being aware of it. He knows about all of mine. To each her own :)

*Remember: I am available anytime to watch over your collection any time you need to take an excursion; or should you tire of any, just PM me! :graucho:
I've seen your collection and it's TDF! :faint:

My boyfriend knows all about my bags, like how many I have and how much I have spent on them. I don't like keeping these kinds of secrets from him especially when they're not really all that big anyways. He's not into fashion or bags and stuff like that, but I'll let him know whenever I buy something new and I always ask for his opinion.

As for my family, I have maybe one bag that my mom doesn't know about but that's only because it's my most expensive bag and I don't want her to make a big deal about the price. My brother and my dad don't really care for my handbag collection at all.

My colleagues and friends know a portion of my bags, but not all of them because I don't carry them all to work or when I go out.
