^ I am exactly torn between those two! My bf told me to get Cassis but I personally don't like my bags to "stand out" too much (haven't seen it IRL but its red - I'm worried it'd be in-your-face-ish red). Gris Tarmac seems a bit flat but I like the fact that it is a safe and understated neutral colour but then again, there's always a chance to buy one next season lols been pondering about this for days sigh~

Actually, Cassis isn't Red; it's a beautiful muted Bordeaux .. so, I don't think it's an "in-your-face" color at all! Given that Gris Tarmac will be available in 2013 S/S, I would opt for the Cassis.

I was at Barney's in Chicago yesterday and saw the Rose Thulian, mango, and cumin. They were just unpacking them while I was there and they let me see them! I was a little disappointed in the cumin, I dunno, just a little bland for my liking, but the Rose T. was out of this world. However my favorite ended up being the Mango. I like it better than moutarde really. Also yesterday I spoke to the SA at Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue. They don't sell Bal at that location, but she had some returns she brought out of the back room. Again, the rose t was beautiful, AND she said that this winter, Bal will open a boutique in the Michigan Avenue store finally!
:woot:I wonder why it took so long since they sell them in the burbs.

Yes! A bal boutique in NM?!? They've had one in Northbrook and Oakbrook for ages! I've been waiting for this day!

I didn't know oakbrook NM had them which store would you say has a better selection? I know Northbrooks selection started off pretty sparse but they have really beefed it up in the past year. It went from on shelf that was half empty most of the time to now a whole row of shelves an more on display across from them along with a lot more in the backroom. I don't go to oakbrook that often and when I do I'm usually going to nordies the next time I go I'll have to swing the NM.

I saw the Fall bags at Barney's NY yesterday and can attest (along with Ceejay) that Cassis is not at all what I would call red. To me it looks like a mauve--like a darker Rose Bruyer. It has a neutral quality and would look good with a lot of different clothes.
Gris Tarmac is a straight gray--lighter and without the complexity of anthracite but still very pretty.

Hi CeeJay,

I'm torn between Gris Tarmac and Latte.. Which 1 should I go for..Plan to have it as an everyday bag? Have you seen both colour in person? Which 1 looks better?

As an everyday bag, you might want to go with the Gris Tarmac. The Latte, while very pretty, might be too light and would show the wear & tear more easily.

Thanks CeeJay for your advice. But if comparing colour in real life, cassis, gris tarmac and latte, which one is the nicest?
I know latte might get stained easily, but it's a really nice soft neutral in picture. Wondering whether it looks the same in real.

Just saw many of the F/W 2012 colors at Barneys in Las Vegas, as I've been stalking Mangue for a little while now :graucho: They had Cassis, Cumin, Mangue, Gris Tarmac, and a couple of the others. Great selection of Cities, Firsts, and was delighted to see they had Hips in most of the colors!

Mangue was pretty beautiful, but I was shocked to see that the color that really spoke to me and stood out from them all was Jacinthe! It was this GORGEOUS soft, lilac-toned blue that actually looked so stunning with the mRGGH. It had by far the thickest, chewiest leather, very similar to the leather on my '10 Outremer Hip

Not personally looking for anything in the blue family at the moment, but in case anyone's curious, Jacinthe is very, very pretty!

Thanks for your inputs ladies! I'm into burgundy (but not red though) but I'm concerned that I won't be able to use it much daily..? I also haven't got any grey bags yet. I'm thinking of getting a mRG this time (I only have a murier Strategy with regular hardware, my city was returned due to issues with leather). Really, really torn..!

Hi ladies! I've been a lurker here. This is my first post and I hope this is the right thread to ask this. :smile1:

Anyway, need your help ladies. I was lucky to find a 2011 Black GSH Velo at a reasonable price - my first and only B bag. However, I agree with the comments here. The strap was too long for me. I am 5'1". I am selling it to my friend but I could not decide on what to get. I went to Neiman Marcus and Barney's New York today hoping to try on the Maxi Twiggy but they don't have it in stock. I am thinking of just buying it online without trying it.

What do you think ladies? I saw the Velo and Maxi Twiggy comparison pictures and I think for my height, the Maxi Twiggy might be a better choice.

Also, should I get the Black or Gris Tarmac from the F/W 2012 line?

Thank you all! :smile1:
