Hi ladies! I've been a lurker here. This is my first post and I hope this is the right thread to ask this. :smile1:

Anyway, need your help ladies. I was lucky to find a 2011 Black GSH Velo at a reasonable price - my first and only B bag. However, I agree with the comments here. The strap was too long for me. I am 5'1". I am selling it to my friend but I could not decide on what to get. I went to Neiman Marcus and Barney's New York today hoping to try on the Maxi Twiggy but they don't have it in stock. I am thinking of just buying it online without trying it.

What do you think ladies? I saw the Velo and Maxi Twiggy comparison pictures and I think for my height, the Maxi Twiggy might be a better choice.

Also, should I get the Black or Gris Tarmac from the F/W 2012 line?

Thank you all! :smile1:

do you ever heard about poly style? I also feel velo strap is too long even when i used crossbody. the poly strap is just nice, and i love the square shape, recently i've got dark night velo and it's now become one of my fave.
easy to use to travelling and chic to use daily.

Just saw many of the F/W 2012 colors at Barneys in Las Vegas, as I've been stalking Mangue for a little while now :graucho: They had Cassis, Cumin, Mangue, Gris Tarmac, and a couple of the others. Great selection of Cities, Firsts, and was delighted to see they had Hips in most of the colors!

Mangue was pretty beautiful, but I was shocked to see that the color that really spoke to me and stood out from them all was Jacinthe! It was this GORGEOUS soft, lilac-toned blue that actually looked so stunning with the mRGGH. It had by far the thickest, chewiest leather, very similar to the leather on my '10 Outremer Hip

Not personally looking for anything in the blue family at the moment, but in case anyone's curious, Jacinthe is very, very pretty!

Bingo .. I really like the Jacynthe; it reminds me of the oldie Bleu Glacier. Wish we could see a comparison pic!!

Thanks CeeJay for your advice. But if comparing colour in real life, cassis, gris tarmac and latte, which one is the nicest?
I know latte might get stained easily, but it's a really nice soft neutral in picture. Wondering whether it looks the same in real.

Alas, I have not seen Latte IRL, so I can't speak to that. It does look very pretty; sounds like you are leaning towards that. I guess it also depends on your wardrobe, but I can say that Cassis is really gorgeous.

I went to the NM website to check out the poly style. Looks similar to a twiggy. Thanks for the suggestion. Hope to be able to check it out in person.

I would go for the Polly style too. The price is very good as well. The strap is normal. I have three Velos, I love the style but the strap is a disadvantage, though. I would go for Gris Tarmac. I love the color as I love the Anthracite a lot. However you can never go wrong with Black. It all depends on your wardrobe of course. Whatever you choose make it a dark color if it is for an everyday bag. Balbags tend to wear off easily as the leather is so soft and fragile. But that is what we like, isn't it?:smile1:

Hello ladies! Please help me decide between gris tarmac or cassis for a daily bag..? Ta! :)
Cassis! I've seen it irl and it's lovely.. It's not too attention seeking like the Coquelicot. It's definately more subtle. Gris Tarmac is nice too, but comparing between those two, Cassis wins.. Just my humble opinion. Remember to update us on your choice!! :)

I'm planning to get Jacinethe as my next bbag! Saw it irl the other day, and it's beautiful...

Below is Cassis btw... Sorry that the colours are not 100% true due to the shop's lighting...
