Explorations in vintage Dooney & Bourke

Glad you all like these.

I take photos for fun, and in photo forums we often do a 'pic of the day'. Also, I like to do documentary photography, in which we document changes of things over time. In this case, we'll see a change in the pocketbook. lol.

I'm going to add to this thread, by taking a photo of my wife, at the same place (NYC, Central Park, Gastrow Bridge), around the same time every day that it is practical (early morning on the way to work). With a different D&B find, of course.

Hope you enjoy!

Another lovely Teton. My wife had this paired with a really perfect outfit, but the bridge was being used for a film shoot the day she wore it. This is the second try.

This one I would love your help on. I ran into it from the same seller on Bonanza and ebay. It appears to be genuine croc, leather lined. The shape and interior logo look like early Dooney, as does the brass tag. The seller stated that Dooney was making skin bags for a very short time. I've never seen another one of these, nor could I find a reference to any Dooney skin bags. Anyway, real or not, it's beautiful!!!

Can you post more pics of this purse? Including the interior. I've never seen a vintage D&B done in a skin before!

I LOVE it whenever someone is so dedicated to a brand. I can never do that and I applaud you!
Now moving on to the bags, I am so mesmerized by the white and ivories collection! They look vintage looking and definitely would turn my head if i see it on the street. Great collection!

Edit: I also am so in love with your fave teton!

Just got these nice bone Tetons, had never seen them before, then three similar bags popped up at the same time. The first two are actually slightly different in size and trim, altho not evident from the photos.

These 'bucket' bags have heavy, interesting, and different hardware. They are also large enough to fill today's needs.

Here's a nice Teton, a Luca Luca skirt, and a DG jacket scored from a sample sale.

Beautiful bags, I've always been a sucker for Dooney. My first designer bag. Added bonus with your pics is the beginning of the fall foliage show. Being from Central NY and now living here in Florida, I get very homesick this time of year. Thank you for the lovely memories. As well as the bags:smile1:
