There is a dooney that I want to bid on but I'm not sure if it's authentic. The tag on the inside is making me question it. Can you help me? Thanks!

There's an authenticator thread and I'm not one. Nevertheless I am pretty sure that bag is fake. It's a Teton style. I haven't told anyone yet until I'm done but I've been building a set of high quality images of these bags. You can see them here at
http://www.pbase.com/dentontay/tetons

I have five of these bags in different colors. Look at the way the pocket is at the back. Look also at the strap attachment on the side.

And of course the label is wrong as you say.

Glad you all like these.

I take photos for fun, and in photo forums we often do a 'pic of the day'. Also, I like to do documentary photography, in which we document changes of things over time. In this case, we'll see a change in the pocketbook. lol.

I'm going to add to this thread, by taking a photo of my wife, at the same place (NYC, Central Park, Gastrow Bridge), around the same time every day that it is practical (early morning on the way to work). With a different D&B find, of course.

The first couple or three I have already posted elsewhere on tpf. But we'll be posting new ones regularly.

Hope you enjoy!

Perhaps my favorite Teton and thus my favorite Dooney.

Wow, that's an amazing D&B vintage collection! And about whether or not being a fan on black bags, I ADORE you! I think a lot of people should try using more color! Of course black bags are classic but colored bags are FUN!

Great and inspiring collection of bags  as is your knowledge of the brand. I really think that these shapes and 'look' are coming round again in others designers collections.

As for the modelling shots, I have 2 things to say 1) the bags look stunning on rather than off (and they looked pretty good to start with) and 2) your wife is a real sport for doing all the modelling, I hope she loves them as much as I think you must do ;).

Hi papertiger, thanks for looking. She doesn't mind the modelling, I have the shot down to a science, thirty seconds or less. She just complains that in the old days she only had one or two pocketbooks and her life was simple. Now she has to wear a different one and try and match it to an outfit to boot. lol. Plus she has to switch her stuff from bag to bag. The other day she found a transit pass in a bag and didn't remember where it came from!

Here's a bone Essex. My wife likes these because they are pretty big, for D&B.

Here's an early Essex, with the arrowhead/turnbuckle fastener.
